Awesome! Cool idea, cool graphics, cool music

I'd like to see an expansion of the soldier commands menu, like allowing for multi select and being able to zoom out. I think having the soldier/alien fights sped up would be a good improvement too.

i rate the sound effects 11/10

The setting of a short game jam really is the perfect place to try out quirky and experimental game mechanics.

All around this idea feels very realized. The DNA of the type mechanic runs throughout the whole experience, even in the intro and the menus. The polish and presentation feels on par with retail games.

Ya'll this game nearly made me pee my pants

Ahh yes very nostalgic, takes me back to the game maker days

You have wisely chosen to go for a simple game idea and put a lot of polish into it for this short timeframe.

I think the randomly shuffling upgrade options between the rounds help give the game a degree of depth, making the player think about what they need to prioritize in a given moment.

Looking at the screenshots I was worried it wasn't gonna run well on my computer (i have potato computer), but it basically ran perfectly, so bonus points for optimization.

I think the game could be improved if there was more feedback for the player getting hurt. There were times where I wasn't 100% sure if an enemy hit me.

Good job!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah I'm thinking I could have filled in the health bar a lot more. As it is now there's probably too much transparent empty space in it.
