Yea, it could definitely have some more variation! :D

Thanks for trying it out <3

Thank  you! <3

Yea, I was imagining having 3D corny videos like they have in bowling alleys between the levels, that could be fun.

Thanks for trying it out !

Thank you !,

Yea I was really happy about that one too, I originally had the player only control one pin but then I took a shower.. and there is no better place for a brainstorming session ':D

Thank you! <3

Yea level 6 got unintentionally hardcore  ':D

Really nice presentation, might need some balancing or perhaps its for the more hard core players. Awesome job !

Nicely scoped, nicely polished. Very good job.

Glad to see you guys also participated this year, really enjoyed your game. Great work !

Just what I needed, thanks for sharing. =)

Glad you enjoyed the sound.

Very interesting take on tetris.

Impressive submission for sure, good job.

Very interesting  idea and the presentation was really good with the audio visual feedback. A bit hard to understand some of the elements like the upgrades had to be dropped in a corner. But overall really nice jam submission.

Hah yea, it definitely got it's issues still. Thanks for trying it out though =) I will give it some more love and make it feel more like a functional game.

I love the concept, but it definitely could need a clear goal. Right now it's more of a sandbox playground than it is a game, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.  It would be fun if you could somehow create the rhythm/melody yourself on the given instrument by doing interactions and that would eventually turn into a song. The tune would naturally have to follow a set pattern, but I could definitely smell some potential here.

The art and music was super good though, good job.

Haha yea, I unfortunately didn't have time to fix that game breaking bug with the kite. It's no biggie though so I should have it up and running properly soon after the voting period is over. Got some other ideas too that I wanted to implement too, but you know, 48 hours and real life responsibilities.

A bird can actually cut the rope and you need to catch it again to fix it. I am glad you enjoyed it ! Going to give it some more love and make it more playable 😁

Really fun concept, it reminds me of that snake.io or what's its name. But much more relaxing though :D  good job.

Really nice, I loved how clean and bug free it was, audio visual feedback also really good. good job.

Haha thank you, I liked the concept myself. Totally going to give it some more love, got some potential for a fun little mini-game. Thanks for trying it out ! =D

Hah, not intentional no. Going to give it some more love and make it more playable after the jam, thanks for taking the time to try it out !

Takk for att du tok deg til til å prøve spillet våres ! =)

Har vært en del debugging etterhvert ja !

Thanks for trying out our game and helping out by spreading the word. =) Hope you come back to play it once it's closer to the finish-line.

Thank you so much for trying out our game, I really appreciate you taking the time and that is some gold play-testing feedback & suggestion for features! (We took notes).

Some of the points you point out are really on the spot, purifying the corruption is a game design feature that has been sidelined for now.

We intend for the player to eventually being able to collect a magical resource that are produced by the healthy trees which in turn can be used to either heal the damaged forest areas or to make the character's ability stronger.

The reason why you lose the game right now is because too many sections of tree's dies, this number is currently set to two which is way too low. (And we got this feature in the same day that we built this version so it does not have any kind of feedback to tell you what is happening), sorry about that hah.

We are intending to make the game space shrink when you lose to many sections of forest sort of like you see in a battle royal, with poisonous smoke dealing damage over time to the player if they stay in it. This is to gradually make the game feel more and more intense as it progresses.

Again, thank you so much for trying out our game I was really humbled to watch the video, means a lot to us. Really hope you try our game out again in a couple of months when things should be working more as intended and with more features added. <3

Ps: You totally messed up our last names, but all is forgiven.

About:

You play as a mythical being from Norwegian folklore, you and the forest, are as one.

Humanity has has entered a new industrial era, they have now  found a way to harvest the resources from the magically enchanted woods. Ignorant to the consequences of their actions, the greed driven humans continue to harvest the trees.

--

In this game we are experimenting with subconsciously teaching through fun game-play,  in this case using deforestation as inspiration to create  a unique game design and attempting to teach the player the underlying problems with deforestation.

Developed by John Hauge & Kenneth Vassbakk

Constructive criticism or feedback is very welcome !

Haha, I might have had substance painter, maya, zbrush, unity, marmoset and 30 -50 tabs open when trying it, tried it out now and it runs smooth ! =), Sorry for the scare !  :D

If my son ever tells me one day that he want's to become a cube when he grows up because cubes lead a simple life, I will tell him that the world can be so unpredictable from time to time and even a cubes life can be a hard one.

I think the gameplay is quite original and could be interesting if further developed, maybe including a tool tip text somewhere in the UI like .. press esc for options or to tell the player what they are actually doing when that control board pops up in the beginning actually does :D.

anyway, It looks great and it's got potential so as a prototype it functions rather well!. GJ

This is very well made, not the most original game-play but It does give the boss fight mechanic a new spin that makes up for it. The presentation is as mentioned by other superb and the assets are really appealing, could feature in a released title. ! Really good job, genuinely impressed !

Thanks for checking it out, yea I totally agree, gameplay is just lacking in all aspects atm. I will push a "better" version once the games are unlocked, but even that one is lacking in terms of gameplay. Glad you liked my firemen though!

Thanks for checking it out <3

Thanks, yea at-least I nailed the firefighters ! :D totally agree, it's not that you didn't get the gameplay, it's more the lack of gameplay in general. I should have focused more on it. I spend most of the time working on optimizing the flame spreading system because I was picturing a really large fire, but then I ended up scaling it waaay down by the end to at least have some form of gameplay, leaving the optimization redundant since the game space is so small = (. well live and learn, just glad I didn't go for my dictator simulator idea.

Thanks for checking it out ! <3

Thanks for checking it out, left a more in debt comment on your submission site <3

I like the visuals, gave me some hollow knight vibes only with colors.

Game-play is as you mentioned in your comment to me a bit lacking, such as mine so who am I to complain :D, but seeing the game in it's current form is played just like a game I've seen on steam but never played, it becomes a bit unoriginal. but as  stated above a added aging mechanic could definitely give some more options in terms of gameplay and level design, but I think it would need even more to stand out of the crowd.

For some reason however I had some kind of frame rate issue ?, not sure if that was intended or not, but I think my gtx 1070 should be able to handle this :D

Anyway, it's a good job given the time spent working on it, music & art was really great and was fitting the theme.

Thanks, yea it's just how much I managed to do in time for submission..

I am thinking about developing the idea further, maybe take the game-play
(the intended game-play ) in another direction, thanks for checking it out ! <3

Thanks, I was really happy with the fire fighters myself, I even started on a plane for them that didn't make it in! ☹ to bad I was lacking in the gameplay department.

Thanks for checking it out 🤗

haha, yea. Totally happy with fire fighters! I might develop the idea further but take the gameplay in another direction. Thanks again 🤗

Regretably both my audio, the dirt mechanic and the grass that is supposed to be there was bugged in my last minute build 😑 didn't have time to fix them before deadline. The dirt mechanic would make the firefighter dig a hole in the ground so that you could limit the spreading.

Thanks for trying it out! 😄

.

nice strategy, reported : )

Yea I totally agree, this could make for a really interesting casual mobile game!.

am picturing that each section of mace is a level so to speak.

Thanks!

May the fire burn bright 👨‍🚒

Thanks for trying it out! I noticed that I had a few bad bugs on the latest build, and yes I totally agree that its both messy and slow. 😅 Next yeat I am joining a team

haha, idea was hitting it with a metal thing that they use .. it's a placeholder thing, hopefully I will get time to replace the placeholders and make it look a little better!.

thanks for leaving a comment :D
