I took the game from you just before the discount, but I'm glad I gave you a few extra cents for a game of this quality! I do twitch lives in French on homebrew GB, your game will be part of those of 2025, if you have anecdotes or memorable things about its creation, don't hesitate to send them to me so I can talk about them during the live!
Thanks to you, and what could be more normal for a Frenchman to do a live on a game with a frog ^^.

I took the digital version on bitmapsoft, the game is really good and demanding, I'll do a live on it (in French), soon! If you have any anecdotes or info on the creation, don't hesitate! I'd love to know how you digitized the voices, they're really recognizable and clear! I tried to do it myself for the “Dijon GameBoy Remake” release, but I couldn't get rid of the little crackles...

I loved it! I have a modest French-speaking live dedicated to homebrews on Game Boy, so the game goes straight into the January line-up! If you've got any info to give me, don't hesitate - it's always interesting to hear anecdotes from the game's creator during the live show :)

J'ai réussi à le coincer ce salopard ! Impossible de recommencer une partir avec la touche entrée une fois qu'on a gagné ? Je voulais lui (re)mettre la misère !!!

Thank you, I only propose the French language because we created it with children during workshops in the libraries of dijon, and as the custom goes, the French are lousy in foreign languages ^^

Great game, I'll be doing a live on it before the end of the year, thanks for the explanation of how to create the “depth” mode, I thought you'd done tile swapping, and I think you could achieve a similar result with this method, but with infinitely more trouble than with your “color change”. Thanks a lot :)

Proove it ! :D

Great project! I do homebrew lives in French and would love to do one on this game in the future, but I can only stream on emulator, will it ever be possible to download the .gb file?

I've already reviewed several games by Elvies or on which Coffee Bat has participated, if that helps increase my credibility ^^

Awesome !

Unbelievable, is this a partnership with the group or a personal initiative?

Wow, wow, wow ! Thanks :p

(1 edit)

J'ai testé plusieurs jeux que vous avez créés avec l'Iut sur les JO (pas tous commentables comme le quizz avec les briques ^^), mais j'ai particulièrement apprécié celui-ci pour son pixel art / critique de l'organisation, bravo !

Hi, I really enjoyed your demo, I do a weekly live in French on homebrews and I'm thinking of dedicating one to your demo, is it ok for you?

Then I saw that you're probably going to release a color version in your devlog, so if you want to tell me more so I can talk about it on the live it would be a pleasure :) If you want, we can talk about it privately, or on twitter or something, I'm already following you, I'm “@jvperso”.

Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

With pleasure, I stream in French, but I've already had designers from other countries come to see the live shows :p . So how do I get in touch with you, by e-mail on your site?

Just a quick message to let you know that your link to this demo from the kickstarter no longer works!

Also, you say that you can get the .gb file from the demo, but I don't see how to do it from itch, do you have another way? (I do lives on homebrew projects, and I can only stream from an emulator ...).

not on a real game boy :D

I'm literally playing your game in an arcade! I'd already really enjoyed it at the Jam, but I hope one day to see a physical version? :)

Hi, I'm the person who posted "Friendship never dies" on the GB Showdown Jam. Thank you so much for organizing it one more year, and for playing all the games live. With over 80 it was still a big job! 😊

Regarding my "copyright violationt", no problem for you to make a decision accordingly, or submit it to the vote of the other participants or whatever, you do as you like, it's your Jam, you're the King (mind you, I'm French, and Kings don't last very long in France haha 😁).
With the excellent games I've seen, there's not much chance I'll be in the top, but you never know ...

In fact I thought that by "copyright violation", you were only talking about Game Boy games themselves, for example using music, or assets directly from a rom, I hadn't even thought that my "parody" came into play since it was about movies, and series, but when you said it live, it made perfect sense !

Whatever you decide, I'll be back next year for Game Boy Showdown Jam 2024 😎

Super cute! I don't know if you know "La Petite Mort" a comic strip by Davy Mourier, but your sprite of La Mort really looks like it!
I had a great time on this river, thanks ;)

I liked this quest game, I think I didn't get the "right" ending, I was told I had used the vacuum cleaner on innocent people :p
In any case, it runs perfectly well on my original Game Boy DMG, bravo, the sprites and background are magnificent, and the music fits the atmosphere perfectly, bravo!

Incredible game! I love the quiz part (the question about the Game Boy Printer, thank you!), the 3d isometric is really well done, bravo! I've been thrown out of the castle a few times, I must admit haha. Only flaw: text bug on my Game Boy DMG , snif :p

I've finally been able to test it on my Game Boy Dmg :D .

I really like the idea of the "Clown" character, it's actually quite rare, and they're more or less always considered bad guys now! I had a few text bugs on the original console, and the shades chosen are a bit dark, but that can be a creative choice, bravo for this game anyway!

So I think I didn't understand because of my really low level of English, I went through the sentences and was able to get out, only to return to the title screen, did I miss anything?
More of an experience than a game as far as I'm concerned, which is no fault of mine, least of all in a Jam!

I liked the atmosphere of the game, which seems quite ambitious to me! On the other hand, I don't think my English is good enough to enjoy the game over a long period of time! But I can see the hard work behind it, and I appreciate that you did it, bravo!

So I really like the concept, even if after working in sales for 12 years, it brings back too many bad memories :p .

On the other hand, I had a bug on my Game Boy DMG when I was serving the old lady and her chocolate ice cream, black screen... I don't know why, but I couldn't go any further :'(
Good game for me all the same ;)

I loved it! A good level design, a story, and also very cute graphics! On the other hand, I couldn't get past the room pictured here. Did I miss something? It's quite possible, given my level of English ... Bravo in any case, a good game :D

What a nervous adventure! But it's a nice change :D . We can clearly see your inspirations, but it's well done, both in terms of graphics and music, bravo!

Wow, I wasn't expecting that! It's so beautiful and cute, I'd love to leave my pug Jesse in this park with his friends (even if they can go into the parking lot, which I think is a bit dangerous :p ). In any case, bravo, it's magnificent on the original Game Boy, and the music comes out great! Totally approved by my dog! I hope you'll make a full version, as you say in your description ;)
I only have one question: who picks up the poop? :p

Thank you very much, you're the first to tell me about the Game Over screen, although I'm sure many have seen it :p I'm glad you enjoyed the game, there's a lot of humor in the jam's games, especially in the names and texts :) .
