How does your game fit the theme?
It's Chinese Ghost Festival. Protagonist has to befriend ghosts and convince them to go back their afterlife realm.

Did you use any assets?
Some character design is from my personal series, but all assets are made during this game jam.

Took me 3 tries to get the good ending. Would have helped if I talked to everyone from the start, so it is on me. :) Simple music that does not get exhaustive. The characters and animations felt quite unique. Amazing pixel art portrait of the protagonist in the intro and outro. Really beautiful. Walking and jumping felt fine. Picking up items was a bit tricky. They seemed to have a small hit box and sometimes it felt like I had to hold the B button. Not elegant, but since there was no timing or precision needed, it did not get in the way overall. Fun little experience.

The level structure is really unmemorable, unfortunately. I spent most of the rating time playing this game, still can't finish. HK(?) setting could be a reason, I have no experience with the city and with Chinese ways of living whatsoever. Maybe in color mode, it would be easier to navigate?

I liked this quest game, I think I didn't get the "right" ending, I was told I had used the vacuum cleaner on innocent people :p
In any case, it runs perfectly well on my original Game Boy DMG, bravo, the sprites and background are magnificent, and the music fits the atmosphere perfectly, bravo!

wow, you tried my game in gameboy. Thanks so much.

yes, it's a multi ending. After the rate period, i will make a fix, so that it's easier to understand

This was the game I was most excited to play. As someone who previously lived in Hong Kong, I love the way you captured the feel of the country/SAR in such a beautiful art style. I love the use of traditional Chinese folklore and culture. This was a delightful game to play, I love it and I would really love a full game in this style.

Thanks for playing the game. Nice to know that you have been in my city. The whole Song of Morus project is about protagonist Song the taoist priestess fighting ghost, undead and demon in Hong Kong . Maybe you will also like my other games in this series.
