Oh, my story is really strange) You can see i have only 3 game in my profile. First GameMaker, second Python, and third is Godot, lol. I'm jumping between engines Unity, Unreal and etc, but now i'm staying with Godot, i'm kinda love it.
I started learning Godot after GameMaker and big path of Python before. So i was comfort with .gd.
You know, it's kinda simple to say. Open docs, read it, and make games, learn other projects and etc. But it's not simple to do, xD.
What about dialogue system i'm not creator of this. Dialogic 2, you can find it on github and add it to godot. I was digging into the code and how it's done. Powerful stuff. You can create your own system, using ui nodes and autoloads. Your scene loads in remote tree where can be another scenes you can use. Like transitions between levels, music player, dialogues. You should check autoloads, it's really interesting.
UPD: Btw, effects on text is bbcode you can use it in reach text label. I didn't know that and spend a lot of time for attempt to create my own system.... A big adivece... always read page of documentation to the end, loool. I just opened information about text, find that i can use color change and didn't go down where was information about text effects like shaking and wave you know.

You are right! HellTaker is one of my favourite puzzle games, so it inspired me while I was thinking about Unwrapping Krampus. I think you would like it even more if there were some beautiful artworks of Krampus! Yep, now I understand that health bars or maybe other indicators are really important, and I will keep that in mind for future games. The idea was much bigger - I drew a lot of scenes on paper that I didn't end up including, and there were about 5 dialogue scenes that I didn't use because they needed more levels. Yes, it would be more better if there are some healthbars or another indicators on Santa(btw it's 15 hits for Santa and 5 for player)
And what about Krampus theme - i guess my game needs more arts and cutscenes to understand what is going on. I payed more attention for gameplay not for the story.

Not bad. Interesting concept.
But it needed more feelings of game. I mean when i'm shooting from shotgun, i don't feel that this is shotgun, this is a shooting stick, a bow maybe. And this is about all in the game,
Also game is totally lacking of balance, too much enemies with too much health. I was trying to play, but in the end i just skipped all monsters using dash.
The first thing i want to admit is the cool style.
From gameplay side, i wish it could be more user interface features to understand what is going on, also more variants of actions.
Also, game is lacking of some dark vibe, so it is not scary.
Not really interesting to play, but it will stay in my mind for a while. Nice job anyways.
Style and conception is interesting, but gamedesign, leveldesign and tech side making a game not really good.
But i guess, hell should look like this)
What about mistakes i would like to say:
Enemies are spawning from no where, they just can fall on you. This is doesn't have any matter in this case bc damage is too small, but player always should see where death/damage is coming from.
You giving a more powerfull weapon(mines or tnt whatever is this) and the spear is kinda useless.
Also for equip items, they are so hard to see. I missed grab axe/hook and just stuck in the some hellhole)
So, i reached the end but this was hard, not bc this is hardcore, just bc this is hard)
But anyway good job, keep working and learning!
It's nice to hear that you want to release this game. What about ideas... I really intresting in demons and mystical stories of Japan culture. (I didn't pass your game to the end.. (I tried... I'm too weak... but I'll never give up xD), so I think this blood on the tree is something demonic or smth like that?) So, maybe some demons bosses?
The meeeow sound is my artist order for me xDD and this names agroball agropalka... she made this and we have a lot of fun of it. And different assets - this is my fould. Artist artist became very ill while working, so i have to do something and i did this unmergin graphics.
What about trees in my game: We have an idea that Christmas trees are evil and they want to destroy some object that you need to protect. They are sending soldiers from left and right and you have to fight them
