You have a pretty dark setting, which is very well done into the game. The graphics are "simple" but they fit the game just right. Even the soundtrack is perfect with the game. However, I think your gameplay sticks more than your story. I'm not a tactical games player, but I was so focused on trying to make the best moves that the story was passing me by a bit. Maybe if in some moves, or when grabbing the pieces, the characters would stop and talk, instead of just having the text on the right, it would make the story stick out more.
The characters abilites are interesting, even though I did not get to use all of them, but they work well together.
I think you have a good foundation for something bigger.
As I said before, if you can make the story have more focus, then in my opinion you can create a good narrative game :)
You have created a very unique way for the player interaction to be unique. At first I didn't understand it, I thought we were supposed to actually guess what each item was, but then I started realizing the true purpose. So I did stay a bit too long thinking about the first 2 items.
The theme is actually a good one, I like what you are trying to tell the player and in a good way.
I would only suggest that you add some background music or sounds to feel more imersive ( if there was audio, and I had to toggle it on, I'm sorry I did not see the button).
Also, I don't know if it was my browser, but I was only able to play it well on fullscreen, otherwise the game window had to be scrolled sideways too. But this is only a technical aspect.
But overall, the game itself is very good, and I would like to see this in a more extended version, maybe with some extra interactions so it wouldn't always be just the "write object" name.
You have a compelling story here. The way you describe what is happening is solid enough for a player to visualize the scene. The music is also really good for the setting.
However, what appears to be a randomness in some events, don't stick too well. For example, losing the game on the first day because the truck decided to appear there, and the following gameplay, I did the exact same thing and it did not happen. Or the lady, which appears more than one time even if I "avoid" her. I think that each event should only happen once during gameplay.
Another thing I would change is that some days you literally do nothing. It's " sleep, wake up, head north, sleep", with no events at all. I believe that if every day had meaningful events, the game would benefit from it.
But overall, it is a solid and a good game. Very interesting!
I appreciate your solid feedback, I tried focusing too much on a story plot and setting, on trying to achieve something different, that I admit that I neglected the mechanic parts, like the combat. I did use default stats and assets for those, which I should have given more focus.
If the project of this game is carried on, I will take all that into consideration.
Thank you very much.
