mash w and crank 90s

the absolute legend he never misses

I lost ):

I think you can jump with space?

Thanks! I'll tell him that

oh no! Sorry about that. Also, this was the day 3 version of this game. You can play one of the day 6 versions here: https://jonas04.itch.io/rural-blackout

the theme integration was how the tiles decay as you go through the level... that was the idea anyway

thanks for the feedback! I often have issues getting the difficulty right in jams due partially to lack of playtesting...

would you wanna help make some more challenging levels??

cool! Did you play the web version? I made an end cutscene but it won't render in the web version so the end sequence is pretty bad on Web...

Thanks for your feedback. Level 15 is the last level so you almost made it haha. Yeah, the tile destruction was hard to get right(not saying I got it all the way right.) I think what I should've done was had the Player handle destruction. As of right now, there's a script on the tilemap that detects player collision and it can result in some anomalies.

thanks for giving it a shot! What would you change about the controls?

thanks!

lmk if you find the secret section

glad to hear it!

much like certain countries, the results(and the jam) are merely a fleeting figment of our collective unconscious

thanks!

thanks so much!

thanks a ton!

thanks!

thanks! Yeah my mixing skills in general need some work. I've been learning a lot this year. How would you suggest I remedy the bass issue? Just lowering it in the mix or maybe editing some other aspects(my audio engineer speak is not the best lol)

thank you!

glad you found it cool

thanks!

thanks so much for the kind words :)

thanks a bunch!

when I said synth I must've been hearing a triangle then using the wrong terms lol. My bad

yoo I used LABS too

First one I've seen this jam with vocal. Super polished. Good job

Really fun mix of sounds here! Also cool variety of tones. I used Reaper for my soundtrack too. What plugins do you use?

Love the 5/4 on Fractal(think that's what it is anyway.) I really like the mix of more acoustic xylephone-esque instruments with the synths.

I think the weakest point is the guitar sounding a little rough at times. Compared to how polished everything else sounds, it doesn't hold up (in my humble opinion.)

Overall, its really great I'd say. Awesome composition.

transition to the middle section + dancing mouse = very cool

rest of the song also nice. Not my favorite soundfont personally, but this is very subjective and the composition is nice.

Very soothing opening track. Nice soundfont. Love the twinkly synth. Also oppression is really cool (the song o.o) I think the opening in synth there is pitched a little too low, but it still works pretty well. Overall, pretty awesome

Some strong ambient for sure, and great setup as well. Sounds decently polished too. Nice work

Really nice work here! I've been watching Stranger Things recently and this reminded me a lot of that soundtrack. Nice variety of sounds, and very well produced. Great job!

thanks!

Hey! So glad you liked it :)

For the vocal, I used Gaelic Voices from LABS: https://labs.spitfireaudio.com/packs/gaelic-voices
They have loads of free sounds and they're all pretty solid.

I'm making a Text-Based Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Horror game that contains 3D first person gameplay segments(and 2D gameplay segments), hence the need to label it as 'experimental horror' lest I run out of breath each time I attempt to talk about the game.

Vault was made in 2 weeks for the Acerola0 game jam, but now I'm working on a full version. I hope to have a demo ready for Steam Next Fest in October.
