Hi! I haven't personally tested the game out with screen readers, but I wouldn't be surprised as 99% of the text is displayed as strings rather than graphics. These are very visual games, though they have been tested with various vision-impaired players to great success. However, if you are fully blind, it's unfortunately probably not a great fit. If you have at least some vision, there's a lot you can do in the game to improve your experience, such as turning off background images, reducing screenshake, and slowing the game speed.
Hello everybody! After much delay, our latest game, Mondrian - Plastic Reality, has finally launched on here on itch.io! You can visit the project page here:
https://lantanagames.itch.io/mondrian-plastic-reality
Explore the colorful world of the Canvas in a mind-bending, block breaking experience. Spin your paddle around fields of artistic creations with dynamically generated challenges to unleash the treasures hidden within. Compete against the world in multiple game modes, create your own masterpieces using the Mondrian Maker level editor, and gather Gems to build a magnificent Art Museum. Immerse yourself in an arcade experience like no other, with Razer Chroma™ RGB integration, and an all original, lively soundtrack. Mondrian - Plastic Reality is jam-packed with one hundred levels, and hundreds more from the community are just a click away! The Canvas is waiting.
- Free Admission: The free demo which includes 10 levels, 2 playable characters, and 2 game modes. The level editor does not include an Open menu, and the graphics editor includes watermarks.
- Lifetime Pass ($9.99): The premium version with 100 levels, 5 characters, 5 quick play game modes, story mode, and full level and graphics editor functionality. Comes with a Steam key!
Both versions include compatibility for custom content, which you can find on mod.io and Steam Workshop.
It would mean the world if you tried out the demo or even added the game to one of your collections.
Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy the game!

Since they already have it up on their website, you'll probably want to get in touch with a copyright lawyer. I wouldn't do anything before that as you want that transaction trail in place. Screenshot and archive (even internet archive) everything.
If that sounds like it's going to be too expensive an endeavor, I completely understand. If the pirate is selling the asset on his own site, you can probably report that to Google. If he's selling it on a third party site like TurboSquid, you can probably get in touch with them instead. None of this will stop him completely, especially in the future. But my top suggestion would be to remove anything from the Q&A about hacking or pirating or anti-cheat, as this kind of stuff just inspires people to try.
After that you will probably want to think about somehow switching to a one-time licensing key system, rather than a pay-for-download system, for future versions, and distributing the asset for free with a paid license to unlock more features.
Honestly I have nothing but good things to say about Steam Workshop. Implementation is very easy and the look of it can be very aesthetically pleasing if your community has an easy way to make good thumbnails! I would say my biggest gripe with it is that it can't be accessed without Steamworks, so I think it is a smart move that you've already got ways built to share content outside of Workshop. It's an amazingly convenient system that adds a lot of longevity to any game, so I still recommend implementing it if you can, or at least commit to implementing it and let your Steam forums know it's on the way.
Keep in mind that trading cards and some other community features are locked out until you reach a certain sales threshold on Steam, so get those Wishlists in!
Little known fact: Mondrian's levels were originally ini-based, but the load times were atrocious. About halfway through early access we switched to array files which are loaded into RAM, then generated, and then flushed from RAM, all in under 2 seconds generally. We actually had to artificially inflate the load times because Steam Decks would trip over level starts from the fast load times. But thanks to the change, we have a maximum limit of about 15,000 blocks, rather than the 99 we had with the INI files, at the cost of about 25kb of extra space.
After much - MUCH - delay, Mondrian - Plastic Reality will officially be returning to itch.io on September 22!
In this one-of-a-kind modernist arcade experience, you'll play as five modern artists going on dynamically generated adventures through art history to uncover hidden treasures which can be used to build your own Art Museum. Build your own creations using the Mondrian Maker level editor, compete on leaderboards, and experience the ambient power of Razer Chroma RGB with Mondrian's dynamic color harmonies.

Mondrian - Plastic Reality is currently $14.99 on Steam but will be receiving a price drop to $9.99 when it launches here on itch on September 22. The Free Admission demo will also be included so you can check out what's in store first!
Hope to see you in the comments section over on the game's page, and thank you for playing!

Happy St. Patrick's and Creator's Day everyone! I'm excited to announce that we've just released a new DLC pack for Mondrian - Plastic Reality, a collection of 10 Impressionism Background Artworks which will appear in-game and that you can use in your Mondrian Studio Creations. This is the first of several DLC packs planned for the year.
Mondrian - Plastic Reality is a fast-paced, roguelite-inspired block breaking adventure through modern art. Play gauntlets of dynamic, hand-crafted artworks, unleash the treasures within, and create your own challenges with the Mondrian Maker level editor. The game itself is available on Steam because of the Workshop integration, but this DLC is currently exclusive to itch AND 51% off for the weekend!

Thanks and enjoy the art!

Hi! Many apologies for the delayed response. The itch.io version of Abstraction in Beauty already includes Steam keys. You can find it on the game's Download page. More information on how to claim it here: https://itch.io/t/67604/how-to-get-a-steam-key-from-your-itchio-purchase
Note also that ownership of Abstraction in Beauty also discounts its price off the sequel, Plastic Reality, on Steam! You can learn more about the sequel and its powerful editing and design tools here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1087050/Mondrian__Plastic_Reality/
Thank you for your support and thank you for playing!
True! Like the lack of "The" or "ing" in Call of Farm. It's grammatically terrible, and yet so... wonderful. I can just see basically the "proud of myself" meme stick figure in the middle of a field of wheat with a title like that.
Easily your second best game industry innovation. Nothing will ever surpass the Dopefish. :)
It's a weird time. Everybody's working from home all of a sudden. I've been working from home for a decade, and one thing I've noticed is it's tough to find good apps for keeping track of my work time. So with that, I'd like to introduce INVOICR, a very quick app designed to do just that. It is essentially a combination stopwatch, calculator, and notebook to help you very easily calculate the value of your time based on one quick input, and selected 15, 30, or 60 minute intervals. Once you press Record, the app will generate a summary of your work, and you can save it as a TXT file to quickly access later.
INVOICR is completely free, and available exclusively here on itch! https://lantanagames.itch.io/invoicr

Hi all! Mondrian - Plastic Reality has been updated to Version EX10. Check out the devlog for what's new in the game, like our completely revamped level files! Make sure to follow the game, grab a copy, or support us on Ko-fi. Thanks!
Hi Athanius! Thank you so much for your support, it really does mean the world. At the moment things are on hold while we focus on Mondrian - Plastic Reality, but it was left in a very solid place that we'll be able to pick up from if we can ever find the time and money to take it to the finish line. In the meantime you can keep an eye on our website as we're currently in the midst of a 10th anniversary retrospective blog series that's going to go over where we left off with Children of Liberty, and feel free to join our brand new Discord to keep in touch and share your Mondrian creations with the community.
Thanks again!

Question:
Our latest game, built in Clickteam Fusion 2.5, is having trouble launching from the itch app. The setup file we're distributing is built with the in-engine Install Creator, which I guess isn't recognized by the itch app yet. Is there a way to make the itch app extract certain files contained in a ZIP to other directories, say, a subdirectory in AppData, or am I looking at changing my setup file into an InnoSetup executable?
Any #YesAtPAXEast folk around? Showing a game off? Just walking the show floor? Going to cool parties?
We're bringing Mondrian - Plastic Reality to the show floor on Saturday, but also the PREGAMER and Made in MA parties.
Or are you a #NotAtPAXEast folk? We will take photos!
Hey Phantom! Just a thought, but you may want to spice your pages up a bit. Some custom headers/banners and video go a long way toward making people interested in your project.
If it helps you get started, we do offer a pack of itch.io templates and premade themes for you to use as well. https://lantanagames.itch.io/design
Hi all! Since some of you may be coming into Mondrian - Plastic Reality without ever having made a level for a game before, or if you're wanting to know what awaits in Mondrian Maker, we've started a series of tutorial videos! This first one goes through the basic interface of Mondrian Maker, as well as showing you how to build your first level. These will be coming out once a week, every Monday, for around the next month or so, and then we'll be uploading them as new features get added.
Thanks!

You should be careful with this. The US Congress is currently investigating unregulated cryptocurrencies and slowly but surely pushing new ones toward being properly regulated under Title IV. So this means cryptos that aren't Regulation A+ will either have to take the new, legal route of becoming regulated and open up to all investors at low prices (instead of a select few, accredited investors at high prices) or risk getting shut down (yes, this includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many of the other popular ones, all of which were created before).
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/its-time-for-congress-to-consider-new-cryptocu...
That said, Quarters is an awesome idea, but I'd hate to see it get shut down because of incoming regulations. I'm up on the news, just not up on the tech, so I can't make any claims about any adjustments you might need to make, but just a heads-up.
