Sega Is Still Cool With Sonic Fan Games, Provided "No Profit Is Involved" | Nintendo Life

Sega Is Mostly Okay With Sonic Fan Games - IGN

Sonic the Hedgehog Fan Games Are Mostly Allowed By Sega (screenrant.com)

Sega provides greenlight for fan-made Sonic titles "so long as no profit is involved" (nme.com)

We did the research, SEGA has a very leniant stance on fan games, and this is within their boundaries. They generally encourage fan games and even brought independent devs on staff to develop their games (Sonic Mania started as a fan game).

Actually, the button is there, but it only shows in fullscreen on my ultra wide monitor - anyone playing on a standard 1080 monitor will not see the button unfortunately. You should use containers and anchors so it adjusts to all screen sizes.

There is no button, even in full screen mode.

Got any gameplay videos? Not keen on a 2.7GB download

Runs mostly fine in the browser although the video at the start on the TV is lag city. Runs like a dream when downloaded. I suspect this is because of shaders.

The game works fine, just takes a few seconds to load. However, it's extremely laggy. Is there a downloadable option? Did you test it in the web browser?

Did you forget to update it. The version here is very old?

One of the most complete games I've seen. Great work!

Shouldn't be this laggy with jolt physics. Try deactivating the physics when they aren't in use. Also, use time slicing for your path finding, because I suspect that this is updating the path for each enemy every frame. You could do it 10 times a second instead and the FPS would probably jump up

Is there a version where the sprites are not scaled up 3 times?

it froze when I collected first pag

Thanks for reply. I am currently using the 8 bit stuff, so I will work with that. If I eventually release my game, I may be able to use the 16 bit stuff in a sequel. Thanks.

What assets are you currently working on. Just wondering whether I keep going with the 8bit retro, or whether you will have some 16bit Mega drive style tilesets and characters available soon :)

Everything funky

Did you test that this works? The loading screen gets frozen forever.

Push tab to get rid of mini map at start

Ahh, I have been looking in the older file (1.4) not the newer updated one. Found them.

Hi, Where abouts are the animated water tiles? In the 6th picture on the right (looks like a town, grass, forest, and lake), the water tiles are animated and have vertical, horizontal and diagonal animations. I can't find these anywhere in the tile set? Are these not included? Thanks

yes?

You've uploaded your entire Godot project, not the game. Just upload the build.

Did you create the Luther Sprite?

There is no virus. Check it with virustotal if you are worried. The python compiler used often produces false positives.

auto py to exe - Virus was found in my python program after recompiling into exe? - Stack Overflow

You should add a picture for the main image

Currently lags after a bit because I forgot to enable the visibility notifiers to delete a room when it is out of camera.

Which file should work with Mixamo? When I upload to Mixamo, it says it cannot load. Or are you saying that the animations will work with them and I can just download the animations without skin? I tried multiple models.

What terrain set (trees, textures) are you using in the preview pics

There really is nothing else out there like your work that really emulates the 16 bit style, especially the monster battlers.

Are you planning on doing a 16 bit Tile set (environment, town etc) as well? I'm excited for the future of this series. I own most of your previous sets.

This is what I've been working on, using your 8bit packs and 9 bit Monster packs (and a similar 8Bit pack called "Mighty Pack".  First person dungeons, very much like Phantasy Star 1.

Are these laid out for RPG Maker (2x3 tiles) using it's odd charset layout, or are there more detailed Wang/Blob tile sets that I can use for Godot?

Do these have front view battlers? I'm about to purchase something, but not sure which yet, as my decision affects what other graphics packs I end up using. Is there a sample image you could show me of the front view monsters in this one? Thanks

Thanks for answering all my questions far. I have two more -

1) what set are the faces/character sprites from?

2) Is there a preview low-res sheet or watermarked image I can see all the monsters?

How many front view vs side view are there? Trying to decide between this and your complete package, as I definitely prefer the 16 bit look
