I was able to kill two zombies but there is no indication of any damage to player or enemy. I did appreciate the environmental storytelling with the fallen tree and the zombie in the damaged home though

I miss rail shooters :( I just want more of them. I was able to finish it and get to freedom! had to aim with one hand and spam the fire button with my other haha

First thing i did was look around and approach the nice angel...
Excellent horror experience, the art is fantastic, i love the designs of everything and how certain characters change to something else before the grinding begins. I love horror experiences like these.

Including a Journal with spells and such is a very nice mechanic that should appear in more games, it's such a nice in-universe "action bar" to make you feel like you are a real adventurer.  Loved the atmosphere having a sombre exploratory tone. My only complaint would be the game closing after the Thanks For Playing screen. Other than that it was great!

Thanks for playing! It was inspired by A Short Hike, the perfect game of this kind. I tried to get a good animation but my modelling and animation skills are very much "retro" inspired to make up for my lack of skill.

Thank you so much for playing! It was A Short Hike by Adam Robinson-Yu! I think that was his name, and I loved that little game, it's around 7.99 on here. I agree about the shadows, finding a good mix in post processing and lighting effects is tough.

I do want to expand on this kind of game it was so much fun and felt like less pressure to design. Using the updrafts as a platforming mechanic to explore broken islands and maybe sailing too on wavey seas could work. Lots more testing to do for something like that though.

it doesn't seem to be a bug you need to fix though, stats are seemingly affected as you would expect (or design them to be) with an extra dice and you can remove the dice from stacked slots and reslot too so there isn't any broken feeling there

I thought the file size was excessive, it looks like the download includes the uproject stuff which is sweet if you want to show people how it was all made etc but the file size could be considerably smaller if you zip only a shipping build.

Very nice use of Quixel assets, great atmosphere and cautious stealth gameplay. Totally deserved to die all the ways I did. Good to chill in the creepy alien environment too.

I could load the project, assuming it was fixed as the latest upload was an hour ago.
Multiple types of guns is a nice touch to surviving in a small arena, but I wasnt sure if the projectiles were always hitting and it looked like occasionally an enemy would spawn so close to me i would almost get stuck as I was usually running backwards and they were running into me. Good to see it got fixed so I could get try it out though.

(1 edit)

The dice rolls and stacking dice to change game values is a good idea to mix with the genre, maybe with more time this could have been used more. I made it to 500+ coins and about 15 points to each of sword, staff and axe before testing if i could die by standing still.

making the water projectiles more visible would help but I know what it is like when you have no time, something gets cut and many good ideas and polish get left aside. Great start and the visual style of the characters is strong too.

Oh yes, an auto-battler where you can manually control each unit, equip two weapons each, upgrades and multiple weapons. A good depth of strategy in there to enjoy with stats and some clear effort went into the system.

Very fun story to set up one of my favourite genres, the twin stick shooter, with a sense of humour!

Very comfy vibes from this one, the art and music fit together perfectly and the theme of a bread world is a unique one! I love the kitchen menu with the furnace start zone and exit door zone.

Very nice sound and feel to the looks, and parchment speech boxes. Would be great if it were expanded upon someday too!

Thanks! I had tried extracting when one part was still waiting to finish downloading. It was worth trying out in the end.

That aesthetic reminds me of Control, especially the way the titles come on the screen and the sound design booms out. Brilliant work. Gameplay is fun too!

Great work! Runs perfectly and sounds great, controls are just right too! I know Game Jams are small affairs but more side scrolling space games are always welcome.

When I try to extract part 1 I get an error about 25% through, the .ucas file in the Pak folder is giving a data error through 7-Zip. Not sure if anyone else has encountered this?

The definition of bite sized fun, the difficulty ramps up fast but the funky music and visuals are great, controls are responsive too. Excellent work!

I resisted the button for less than 7 seconds. Very cool music to go with a more challenging puzzle than I expected, plenty of layers to try to understand each time the timer runs out! I highly recommend this one to people looking for some good Jam.

Surprisingly chill platformer with unique physics, worth more than a few minutes of your time to enjoy the beat and climb a little higher each time.

Very cool spooky side scrolling point and click investigation puzzle game with voice acting! Point and click games should never have gone out of style. Performance was a little choppy on my PC but worth it to try this one out considering it's a genre that needs a good shake up. This may be my first game reviewed for this Jam but it is a cool idea that would work so well fleshed out into a full size narrative adventure of some sort.
