I made the shooting sound in Audacity after watching a YouTube video by Jonas Tyroller. It's mostly some finger snaps I recorded with the EQ highlighting the lower tones. I actually intended it to sound more like a typical laser blast, but it seems to fit the underwater vibe well

If anyone sees this and is interested in my game, I wasn't able to finish it in time for the jam, but I will still complete it. The game should be released in about a week. For now, here is a small version of my wizard animation:

I recently published a small top-down shooter called Mutiny in Fish Space which will be a main ingredient for my jam game. I have been wanting to iterate on a small project like this to gradually grow my skills, and Alchemy Jam seems right in line with that!

I am posting this thread partly to keep myself accountable to release a new game in this jam, but also to let anyone who is interested see my starting point for my jam submission. I look forward to seeing everyone's games!

Water is definitely wet. Some might say that water merely makes other things wet rather than being wet itself, but I say that nothing dry can make something wet.

Nice game! I like all the different types of fish and how they interact with the player. I especially enjoyed sliding on the eels' trails to pick up fish faster!

I worked on my game right down to the wire and borked up the export as I panicked to submit it. Is it allowed to export it properly and upload the fixed file now, or do the games need to be judged by their initial submissions only?

Either way, this was a fun jam, good luck to everyone in the rating phase!

For question #2, what I usually do for the description is list the controls, 1-2 sentences of context for the setting/gameplay, and credits for any assets or assistance used in development. 

My pages are usually pretty barebones as far as style, but I will upload at least a screenshot of the game to be the thumbnail image if I don't take the time to make a nicer looking title image.

To be a little more specific on the collision detection, there are some areas where you can hit walls when it didn't look to me like they were touching. Here is a screenshot showing an example of this, this is as far as I can go to the right without hitting the wall:

Other than that, I really liked the visuals, it had a nice murky underwater effect!
