Thanks for the awesome video review!!! Love the feedback. We had to cut the game pretty short to finish in time for the jam deadline. Working on building out a new demo. Follow here for updates!

Great take on the theme! I like clock fixing "mini game".  I like the dash mechanic while exploring as well. The music also kept me on edge.

Also, I cant thank enough for all of the GBstudio tutorial videos you post. They were super helpful to someone jumping into the software for the first time. Keep up the great work!

So cool that you were able to make such a unique game in such a short period of time.  I love the overall presentation of the game. If you continue development I would maybe suggest an easier onboarding tutorial. I struggled with the controls. Still, amazing work for such a short time.

Amazing work! From the beautiful graphics, to the creepy story I was blown-away! I usually don't like this style of game, but was hooked from the start. Great job!

Kind of a port, but more of a test in GBstudio. "RumbleFest" started out as a passion project/first game. Think 1980s WWF meets pacman or snake. We released it on mobile ios, but if felt very much like a "first game".

Then a few years later, with a new team, we did a version for the NesMaker byteoff JAM, but that software really didn't suit our needs so the project kinda died.

Fast forward to now and GB Studio seems like a really good fit.

Thanks @Wessie! Yeah I plan on working more on the game. Stay tuned for updates. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks @AlexandreCoulon! I have to work on making the sprites a little smaller, and optimising animations. I went over the frame limit, and I hope to have more enemies on screen.

Thanks @julss! Working on fleshing out the game a little more. Stay tuned for updates.

Thanks @howdy riceball! Your kind words are inspiring me to keep going! Stay tuned for updates!

Thanks for playing and the feedback @Eric_Mack! Yeah, I agree there are a lot of issues with the gameplay. It was the first time I had worked with GBstudio and had to make a bunch of cuts to finish in time for the jam. I'm super excited with the engine and looking forward to making some updates. Stayed tuned

Thanks @BenJelter! I discovered your work while working on this jam and just want to say I'm a HUGE fan! Amazing stuff.

Thanks @grumpyfunction! I was able to reuse some for version we tried to make in NESmaker. I think we'll have to do some resizing to get them to work on GBstudio. "JobberJoe" went over the frame limit lol.

🤣

Ha! Thats so cool to see the game working on actual hardware! Thanks for trying it out. We plan on fleshing out the gameplay a little more, and playing around with GBstudio to see if we can turn this into a full release. The music is by Chris Sensebe @Sensasaur . He's the best!

This is fantastic! I love the "spilt milk" mechanic. Such a great idea. Pretty amazing what you were able to accomplish in such a short time. Looking forward to seeing what can do with some more polish.

Thanks! Yeah we plan on experimenting more with GB Studio to see what we can come up with. This has been a passion project over the past few years, and GB studio seems like a good fit.

Wow! Very impressive game! I love the art and character design. The super detailed character on the title screen and the low detail player character are hilarious. Nice job.

Nice job! The story and pacing made we want to keep playing. I really like the design of the title screen. Would be curious to see where the game and story went with more production time.

Cool concept and great execution. I found myself want to drive further and further out. Nice work!

Love the old school style to this game. Great choice having no music during the gameplay. It really helps the other sounds stick out. I laughed every time I heard the player character say "radish" lol The jingle at the end of the level was fantastic. Great job!

Nice sprite work and atmosphere! Was really digging the vibe. Nice job.

Amazing Presentation! Love the song, art and use of the theme! The news paper UI was fantastic! Would be a fun game to play with multiple people, (got a little stressed multitasking all the tasks myself lol) Great job!

Love the sound track and the overall vibe of the game! Good use of the jam's theme too! The game was super difficult! lol I didn't make it too far. I might suggest balancing the difficulty out a little, and maybe adding a recharge feature on the electric laser. Great job!

Cool clicker game! Loved the colourful sprites and backgrounds. Once suggestion might be to get rid of the "shop" button, and just click on the icons in the top hud. Nice work!

This is amazing work! You totally captured the feel of Flashback, with a more modern take.
