The art is so cute!
The controls were a bit confusing at first, but after that it was smooth sailing to the finish! Great stuff :D
Amazing game! It has such incredible polish!
I really liked how distinct it was aesthetically from Slay the Spire while still maintaining a lot of what makes the deck building in that game so great. All the different characters, keywords and playstyles, I'm definitely going to recommend this to all my friends into deck builders!
Really amazing game. If I'm being honest, I feel like I missed out on a bunch of the story because I was busy using the charge shot's recoil to jump around, which was super fun, but it felt like it kinda went against the vibe of the game. That and it felt like it did way too much damage to bosses for how little time you had to charge it.
The visual aesthetics and audio were great, too. Was that Hungarian Dance No. 5 on the second boss?
All in all, a pretty incredible jam game!

Really cool, especially for a solo project! The opening and ending illustrations really added a lot to the game.
The gameplay was pretty good and responsive and the different themes for the levels were nice. I liked how forgiving the health system was up until the boss. The variety of enemies was great, as well.
The music definitely wasn't bad, but the loop did seem a bit short, especially during the boss, which maybe felt a bit long? The boss patterns were super fair though! I liked how clear they were, both having a clear rhythm for the player to get their own attacks in.
Overall, a solid platformer! Great stuff!

We really liked the story and the build up! The gameplay felt a little lackluster, though, when it actually came to the board game it felt like most of the time the optimal move was to just pass your turn until you could hit something. Sometimes advancing made the story text not show up which felt super disappointing. :<
That said, the concept and the story were really cool and intriguing. Definitely the highlight!
You really nailed the atmosphere, visually and with the music and sound design! The visual novel-like dialogue segments were definitely our favorite. The uniqueness of the puzzle-y platform segments was super cool, too, though we ended up getting some of the bugs people were talking about. It gave us an error and went to a black screen right at what felt like the final segment. D:
It was still a really awesome story, super well told, overall!
Thanks so much for playing the game! We really enjoyed watching you play and observing the small messages. Especially the bottles scattered around and how Satsuki was missing as well too haha. We plan on reworking the game on our free time to put the ideas we actually had in mind ^^ it being a small jam, we definitely rushed the end haha and the scary parts too! Keep up the great work though! You were very entertaining to watch!

Thank you so much for reviewing the game and taking the time in explaining all the flaws we had as well ^^
I sincerely thank you for complimenting the art! I really appreicate it a lot! I also believed we could have done better but unfortunately, we had to cut the story about half way in! By no means am I complaining but since this is techically Momei Doumei's first jam together, I'm glad we did surprisingly well!
Me and meido definitely will take note of all these things! We were discussing over the story many times and the gameplay a lot because there wasn't simply enough character interaction that we decided to do lots of lore pages to give the story more depth! Although the game is a bit buggy and very unpolished. We're glad you played all the way through! Oh and once again, thank you :D
-Momo
Can I just say, I hate bees and I'm kinda glad it's a mini game of slaughtering them >:D MWAHAHA!
Oh but, ahem. I absolutely loved the story! The way you find out more about the tale of the gardener and the daughter is just so heartfelt! I loved it so much! I cried the whole time as I talked to the flowers. But of course laughed too with all the silly interactions too!
The Art was lovely as well, Everything felt so gloomy and grim but the flowers put such a nice touch to it. I love the cacti gang so much too LOL
I encountered a bug when I tried to do the end of the story with the bouquet, it kept telling me I needed more than 3 when I had 4 though! But of course that wasn't an issue at all :D
Thanks so much for making this game and I really hope to see more! Totally earned full 5 stars for me, because everything was super in place and lovely.

Wow, thanks so much for the in-depth feedback!
There's definitely a lot of stuff we have to polish up and some of these issues are remedied more or less in the current build that's not quite ready yet, but I'm really glad the characters and writing landed for you, as that was definitely one of the key focuses. I totally also share that pet peeve of random encounters and grind, so we've definitely focused on trying to give the player agency in choosing when to initiate battle!
As it stands yeah, there's def a lack of consistency in terms of assets, both musical and even in terms of sprites. We've even been working on overhauling the battlers to better represent the characters' designs. Though, with the textboxes some were intended to represent character thoughts rather than speech, but I wouldn't be remotely surprised if I accidentally used the wrong one in places here and there. Also I really wanted to have the characters follow on the map but it actually could adversely affect certain mechanics. Later on in the game we started adding cutscenes where they would show up, though, we still have to go back and make those consistent.
As far the overworld mazes and dungeons, what do you feel would make them more fulfilling? Are there any additions you'd personally like to see? I was a bit worried about overloading the player with dialogue at a few points so I had wanted to give them freedom of exploration between set pieces, but it's probably a lot less engaging than the scripted segments because there's not really a ton of great incentive to explore and the mechanics are pretty simple. I would love to add more action oriented segments or even minigame type events, but neither Momo nor myself are really programmers! Though, eventually we would love to make our own tilesets from scratch, it'll probably be a while.
But in any case, thanks again for playing and for giving such thought to your review! We both really appreciate it!

Hey Tamara! We're currently in need of a programmer if you're interested in joining us! :D We are a team of two and hoping you'd like to join us ^^
Meido is a writer/ beginner pixel artist and I (Momo) do digital art! If you're interested I could send you a link of some art we both do!
(Sorry! We found a programmer now but maybe next time!)
