OH THIS IS SO GORGEOUS

(1 edit)

As a fan both of cute lesbians and of being out of my depth, Touhou Panel Date Pon is excellent. The story is funny and heartwarming at the same time, which is excellent for a lesbian love story. I loved the framing of the match-3 being in-universe dating with a fun callback at the end. I want Reimu and Marisa to be happy together so, so bad.

Gameplay-wise, it's Panel de Pon with spell cards. I've never played Panel de Pon or Touhou, so I got to come to this from the standpoint of a complete newcomer which is always nice, which meant I naturally gravitated toward story mode. Hoo boy. I was not prepared for Panel de Pon. Not one bit. I got stonewalled at the sleepy boss for almost 15 minutes, but yknow what? Even though I kept losing again and again despite not really knowing why, it was fun. The music's excellent, the sound effects are snappy,  and the board's surprisingly readable. Ended up powering through in the end, and it was well worth it.

There's survival, versus, and Lunatic modes which definitely did not need to be included, but I can appreciate them even if they're not for me. Looking forward to seeing netplay tournaments for Panel Date Pon in my youtube recommendations soon.

Solid, solid game. Spell bombed my heart with its writing and I'm gonna be seeing falling panels every time I close my eyes. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is cute! I love the concept a lot. Would love to see this expanded!

Very nice! It's almost  impossible to know where anything is though - as others have said, the camera needs to be zoomed out plenty.

The game is absurdly polished (and no surprise, considering some of the team worked on Binding of Isaac and seem to be mostly professionals). However, the dice theming's only tangentially related, and the random tile choice is a frustrating mechanic - there are cases where your only option is to die because it picked the wrong tile. That, plus the addition of enemies in a movement-focused puzzle game denying the ability to think out your thoughts leads to a game that's frustrating at best and downright uncomfortable to play at worst. It can't decide whether it wants to be an intricate forward-thinking puzzle  game or a tight-reflexes action platformer.
Good concept, just needs some re-tooling.

Incredibly polished! I wouldn't describe this as fitting the theme, though - the die could have been replaced with, say, a locksmith and you'd never know it'd been changed. Still, the polish is off the charts and the levels were sort of fun. Well done!

A game that could really only work with dice. Hits the theme excellently - well done!

Very cute! Looking forward to a full release - the puzzles were clever.

Dice minigolf in space. Visual design is fascinating but the sound was aggravating. Definitely an experience.

Super fun! Looking forward to a full release - the dice are fun to move around as, the arcade's spot-on for what I thought it'd be, and you all seem to have a good sense for what's fun. Good work!

This is adorable!!! Laughed at the Jerma Rat, and the arcade's fun to move in around in. Best game I've played of the Jam so far :D

Enjoyable horde shooter. My only complaint is that the dice doesn't feel like it adds anything to the gameplay; sure, your damage is random, but that's an under-the-hood feature in other games. Maybe ways to affect the die rolls outright - nudging them or timing them, maybe?

More or less my thoughts as well.

Fun! Drifting to recover health is genius.

SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!! is a free two-player microRPG for two players about navigating a relationship neither of you can admit you're in. It's relatively small at two pages, so it's a fairly quick one to understand - and it's free, too!

Specifically designed to mirror a common experience in the LGBT community - that of never knowing if the other person feels the same way because it's difficult to read the signs and therefore never making the first step - SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!! allows for myriad types of relationships to play with. Maybe instead of romantic interests, you're bitter rivals too proud to admit the other is better. What's important is the connection.

Sessions can last for as short or as long as you like, though the average session is designed to be roughly an hour.

Anyway, it's my first TTRPG - a friend (Emmeryn) helped me polish the gameplay, so it's feature-complete with an aesthetic update coming later. I hope you enjoy it!
