omg such enthusiastic praise, tysm!! i was uncertain if i could pull off something of this scale in two days, between irl responsibilities and light burnout, and the responses i've received from yourself and everyone else in this comments section has made the grind worthwhile.

thank you! very happy to hear that, especially with some of the deviations i took like on topaz imperium.

lmaoo idk about genius, but i really appreciate such high praise

something i didn't mention in my submission description is that i imagine stage 2 to be a fight against an old friend who's been ordered to hunt down the player, which is how i justified the slightly less energetic feel.  though admittedly i invented that after creating the track hahah

tysm!

thank you, glad the genre blending worked for you!

that's awesome to hear, tysm!

damn, that's very flattering to hear, thank you! hoping for something along those lines too lol

thank you so much! love trying to throw in as many styles as i can to keep the listen fresh

hahahah that's awesome, thank you

hope it didn't sound too bad on speakers, i don't mix for them lol

lol i try my best thank you

woulda loved to have seen a live reaction on stream, wasn't around for it unfortunately so i never dmed it to ya

tysm!

wasn't expecting a mega man comparison, that's awesome to hear! thank you!

such high praise, ty!

ty, still not the most experienced with rock so that's great to hear!

yeah i wish i was able to get a few more sting-length tracks in there, but that time limit wasn't budging lol.  thank you!

thank you i do my best lol

thank you!!

thank you, i always strive to have genre diversity and it doesn't always mesh the best together, so i'm glad to hear this one was cohesive to you

ty! stage 3 definitely one of my favorites too lol

wow, this was a remarkably cohesive listen! i was not expecting the reversed sounds to sound as good and well-incorporated into the mix as they did, kudos to you!

the instrumentation is very cute! i particularly love the wispy lead synth in no lemon!

i love the piano melody and its contemplative undertones! the instrumentation surrounding it lends a lovely positive quality to it as well, the synth pad is really pretty!

super cool ambient piece, the reversal works really well in this context!

ambitious move with that time sig, 7/4 is a lot of fun to compose in.  guitar and bass are super funky - nice work

heartwrenching melodies, beautiful instrumentation, intense emotions, you've got it all here.  and the art is such a lovely complement to the music, i'm amazed you made that and the music in the span of this jam.  i can absolutely see this being an anime ost.  great work.

really majestic orchestration, although it's not tied together by clear motifs, the composition feels very intentional, almost like it was scored to a cutscene that doesn't exist.  great work!

reason solidarity.  love the fun vibes across every track, and that they're all so dynamic!  you only have four tracks but cram a lot of ideas into them and make the most of the runtime.  loved being able to recognize some of the reason stock instruments like that harpsichord in the buzz merchant lmao

thank you, i've never thought myself as the best with orchestration so i'm happy to hear that!

tysm! the motif use was really important to me so i'm glad you and others appreciated that

i may revisit this in the future and make improvements/add more tracks; if that happens, that'll be the version i release! thank you!

thank you! though i don't think i managed to get as immersive with it as you did lol

thank you, i'm glad to hear you think i struck that balance!

reason soldiers >:) thank you!

if we're being honest it was closer to 15 mins of music since they're almost all looped lmao.  thank you!

thank you! relieving that the first few tracks still managed to sound distinct from one another haha

thanks, glad i managed to convey that to you!

gorgeous atmospheres in this, and the ethnic instruments inject so much flavor into the compositions - it would not be the same if they were replaced with typical western orchestra pieces.  i tend to prefer melodically/motivically-driven music in games, but stuff like this is really compelling for its sense of scale and lived-in-ness.

the drum and bass elements of this soundtrack are what really made this an entertaining listen, the drum sample selection was so clean and satisfying.  i'm surprised how well the bbc symphony orchestra instruments weaved in with it too, for some reason i'd just never tried using that with dnb stuff.

lovely sound design, i like that it achieves ambience yet is engaging nonetheless to listen to.  i've heard some submissions that are just drones masquerading as game music, but this is the kind of ambient music i like to hear in games, especially if it's a metroidvania as you were going for.

glad i was able to capture both game genres satisfyingly for you!  thanks for listening!
