I love the use of the 3-D Space for this game. The alchemy lab is really well put together. I like that everything is apart of the environment rather than in menus. ( This game would play well in VR! )
The gameplay is fun and rewarding, especially once you start to remember the effects of some ingredients and where they are located. Love the stories told through the orders!
Fantastic game overall!!
Super polished game! The shooting is very juicy, and the bullets hitting the enemies have a nice crunch. The lighting is really well done. I also like how the camera shifts ahead in the direction the player is aiming. It helps with shooting, and adds a really nice 'Umph' to turning. (if that makes sense haha) The flavor text/lore in the [how to play] section is a great touch!
I had a great time playing this. I love the 2-phase game play. The first phase game enough time to explore and prepare at my own pace, and the second phase still turned into a frantic rush to kill the zombies. The ominous glow of the red markers on the tombs, the music, and the lighting really set the ominous/undead mood. The lore at the beginning is a great touch.
The core gameplay is really fun. With some more levels, art, and audio, this would make a great full game! I was surprised with how well the claw functions i.e. the ball never phased out of the claw or anything. Unity physics can be hard to tame. I also really like how the camera shifts between the two areas.
Thanks for playing! I have an updated version of the game on the pico-8 BBS that adds in a predictive camera that goes ahead of the player:

I am waiting until the ratings are done before updating the itch page because I worked on it outside of the jam time.
Thank you!
The musician is not part of my team. @gruber_music releases free to use pico-8 music albums. The track used is "nostalgia" from his first music pack: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=29008
I only modified it slightly in code to have the bass layer play in the menu and have the second layer added without interruption when the game is started.
