Yeah it is possible, but the godot's own script works better. And isn't really hard to learn if you come from c#. I switched from Unity to godot too and picked it up very quickly.
Really cool game, at first I didn't understand you could plant anything, but it was a lot more fun when I figured out how it worked. Maybe make the mages and the knights stronger and the player a little weaker. Else you can just don't focus on farming at all and do pretty well too. Still a lot of fun!
Really liked playing your game, I agree that it does get a little repetitive over time. But still a lot of fun. I did get stuck sometimes between a house and enemies but maybe that is intentional.
