Thanks!

============
Regarding your question, I do a mixture of both the methods you mentioned =)

If the SFX does not take pitch changes well, I'd rework them in an external processor and import them into Unity as whatever number of separate files that I need, and randomize which gets used via a list

Alternatively if it sounds good with pitch changes, I'd randomize the audio source pitch before playing using something like this:

audioSource.pitch = Random.Range(1.0f  - variationVal, 1.0f + variationVal);

The 'variationVal', being a small float fluctuation that you have determined to still produce good sounds;

For Combatman's case, it's purely the latter. There's probably a better way to do this, but I'm slowly learning, and just sticking to what I'm confident in for now XD

Hope this is useful!

Thanks for the feedback! =)

Thanks! =)

Thank you for playing our game =)

Thanks so much for playing =)

Thank you for playing =)

Very well-made game with lots of content. Well done! =)

Really liked how the aesthetic and feel came together in your game. Also really enjoyed how figuring out the boss patterns made each subsequent playthrough like a speed run. Well done ARC team! =)

I like how well put together your game is. The art, music and aesthetic fits together really well. I found traversing  the level while trying to dodge and stay alive at the same time a bit challenging though.  Overall I had a good time playing. Keep up the good work Quixotic Works =)

I really enjoyed my time playing your game! The opening sequence is so well done with beautiful art, and fully voiced too! The attack feedback is great, and the spinning feature is interesting while still being easy to get into.  Keep it up CocoLovesYou! =)

Despite the restart not working and the bosses spawning consistently at the same place, I think you have nailed the feel of the game! The controls feels good and responsive, and the shots and effects are very complementary. Keep going AvexFuddle! =)

I really enjoyed playing your game. The feel, style, and responsiveness are on point for me, and despite the web version having audio and graphical bugs, and the bosses feeling a bit easy - I really had a great time fighting all of them. Good work JSavageJS, keep it up! =)

The music, art, and style goes well together, and the cinematic shot was a nice touch. The attack window seems to be a bit too tight to be reliably used. I really liked the pixel art, and had a good time playing =)

The music, art, writing, and overall aesthetics were on point and very well done. There seems to be some minor bugs relating to the teacher's vision cones, as well as game states when resetting the game without quitting the exe. Overall a very well made game, and a good time!

Very original set-up. Could have used some BGM and FX to liven it up. Keep up the good work! =)

The BGM, art-style and general theme of the game blended together nicely. Despite the clunky view controls and the inconsistent object sorting layers breaking the immersion, I did have a good time playing =)

Really well done parallax and fx, and the multi-directional dash feels really good. The long delay between enemy deaths and their colliders turning off detracted a bit from the fun. Nevertheless, still had a good time playing!

Edit: phrasing =)

Good made-from-scratch 3D models, and the gameplay feels good (esp. that dash speed). There seems to be a bug with the hide button that causes you to disappear when tapped rapidly despite being nowhere near cover. Had a good time playing!

Good drawing, aesthetic, and music! The mechanics are interesting, but for some reason they don't seem to work on my pc: the thrown items don't seem to do anything to alleviate the detection bar. Otherwise a very fun jam game!

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Simple yet so much joy to derive from a safe XD Legit sent me down a rabbit hole reading up on how safes work:

This could just be me, but is there any chance the directions are upside down? The image above (and the in-game text notes) says left is counter-clockwise, so that's counter-clockwise to 90 - so that's 0, 1, 2, 3.. to 90. But I only managed to open the safe doing the opposite: clockwise to 90 - 0, 99, 98.. to 90. I had to reverse everything to open the lock too.

Also is there supposed to be an opening animation for the safe? Or is it just the large click and soundwave?  Asking to know if I've successfully opened the safe XD

Awesome work with unreal engine \m/

Super fun and interesting! XD

I'm not the best at deep thinking when playing games, but it was designed so well that even I felt powerful when the kuehs combined. The music and the style makes the whole experience super immersive. Had a great time. Keep it up dev!

Just finished this awesome short boss rush game! And it's quite easy to see how much you've improved with this latest entry! XD

I think the game controls and feels good. There are seemingly reimagined mechanics from your previous titles like the special rush attack (from Rogue Hunter) and the bullet hell mechanics (from Vampire Hunter), and they are implemented here in such a way that they are both much more responsive and intuitive with the overall feel of the gameplay.

Also the music and the visuals are on point - I was genuinely engaged within the Near Singular world whilst playing.

Looking forward to more stuff \m/

Thanks ArcGames - I'll let Wilk and Takoren know of the good feedback! =D

Regarding the enemies, I recommend equipping all heavy parts. We didn't finish the loop or the tutorials due to limited time haha. Will try to do so once things calm down.

Thanks again for playing our entry \m/

P.S. Did you find the hidden message in my Remembrance comment? XD

Nice entry b̴̺̈́ro \m/ I think you naile̵̠̿d the atmospḧ̶̙́ere - it was really tense keepi̸̩̇ng an eye out for things, while also trying to n̵̹͗ot get jump scared̶̤̐ by ghosts. The environment looks really̵̝̓ well made, and the music is a really go̴̟͊od fit for what you̶̥̒'re trying to do.

I could stand the first creepy event, but the second one with the d̷͈̑o̷̗͝l̸̮̊l̸̺̃ and the 3d speaker atu I couldn't stand hahahaha! XD You need to tell me how you did that with the audio - it felt a bit too r̷̲̈e̸̲͌ȁ̴͇l̵̛̥ (in a good way) -_-'

Keep up the good work! =D

Hahaha, damn. I don't usually play horror games, but this one scared the h3ll out of me XD I like how it just starts out as just a simple day and quickly devolves into mayhem. The sprites were simple, yet were not lacking in detail at the same time, and the sfx fits really well. Keep up the good work dev! \m/

Edited for clarity.

Very creepy (in a good way)! XD The writing is engaging and the text fx really drives home the scene and was very well done. Keep up the good work dev! =D \m/

Edited because I jumbled my words XD

I finally managed to play this! I really like how the world looks and feels, and customization systems are always awesome XD Keep on dev-ing!

Hehe I see, I see. I think the commas confused me, is all XD

Yes, all those bugs sounds right. I will do my best to fix these! Thanks so much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. Will definitely try to polish it up more =D

Thanks! I'm really happy that you had fun with this little title XD So far the response to this has been really encouraging! =D

Also wow! That's quite a score - I didn't know that was possible =P Did you rack up the time so that you could explore at a calmer pace? That was certainly a strategy I wanted people to use, but I didn't know the timer could go that high! XD

Edit: Added extra comments - Unless the commas are part of the bugs you're referring to. Regardless though, that's an awesome score! XD

Awesome! Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you had fun! XD

Also great scores! Depending on the scores people share, I'm thinking of putting out a speed run video to show people the more obscured parts of the game =D Maybe after the MYCE showcase this Thursday & Friday =)

Looking forward to it! XD

This is really well made! A bit too difficult for me though. I think it may have been a bug, but on my 4th try, the boss seemed to get stunned by one single deflect, so I just took advantage of that XD

Also maybe it's just me, but I think the KB+M controls are not working when controlling the hunter.

Overall I had a lot of fun with this game - the music is epic, and the graphics were pleasing to the eyes. Well done developer, keep it up! =D

I couldn't really get the characters to move before the game froze, but I think(?) I have a rough idea of what you were trying to do with the screens.

A day might not be enough to get it done, but I hope you manage to get this cool concept working eventually! Keep on keeping on, developer!

Yo. The look and the feel of this game is solid! Not sure if I'm missing something, but I'm pretty sure there's no exit besides this one:

Which leads to a gameover - but I could be wrong. Overall, I enjoyed my time with it! Keep on keeping on, developer! =)

Managed to reach the end! Such a good feeling XD Keep up the good work, dev! =)

Also one of the walls in the second level seems to be missing a collision? XP

This was a hectic but fun little game. Keep up the good work developer =)

I couldn't open the file for this. I keep getting this error:

Is it playable on your end? Any ideas? I google troubleshooted and tried to extract it, but I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.

Cheers! =)

I had a very fun time with your game XD It feels like a cozy version of flappy bird. Keep up the good work! =)

Nice and clean 10s game! =D 13 seems to be the best I can manage for now - keep up the good work!

This was very cozy - good job! XD
