I enjoyed the game's more fast-paced take on action, very hack-and-slash vibes. Rough around the edges though

Good start with the list of mechanics for the player kit, I just wish I was able to aim at all direction as opposed to just straight ahead for the player. The mechanics as a whole (jumping, attacking, combo, charged) has some inconsistencies that make it hard to get into.

I wish the movement feels much better but its pretty rough, grappling mechanic is a great mix to add verticality into the gameplay but it feels inconsistent whether I can use it or not.

I enjoyed the pixel art and grappling system you had in this game!  The melee gameplay could have used more work and the charge mechanic would have benefited from having some sort of animation and effects.  Nice work overall!

Is this only for windows?

Developer

Hey! Yeah, unfortunately we've only made a Windows build so far, but depending on how much traction we get with the game we may further expand the project in the future

Sound and visuals are satisfying but only thing that I would recommend to have the ability to jump if the character is touching to the wall. Maybe a wall jump would be a good mechanic to implement in the future.

I like how well put together your game is. The art, music and aesthetic fits together really well. I found traversing  the level while trying to dodge and stay alive at the same time a bit challenging though.  Overall I had a good time playing. Keep up the good work Quixotic Works =)

I enjoyed this a lot! Took me quite some tries to understand the boss' attack patterns, but overall, very satisfying to beat it! Love the option of using melee or ranged attacks, I personally like the melee charge up attack. Well done, congrats!

Very nice! Was interested in this submission because Atropos is the name of the final boss in our game, so I really wanted to check it out! And I am glad that I did! Nicely done!

A curious thing happened to me while playing this game. Probably a bug, but one that had an incredible effect on me!

After several attempts, I just couldn't beat the boss. So, since you can continue the game when the “You lost!” screen appears, and your character becomes de facto invincible, I thought I'd continue fighting the boss at that point, so as to see the whole fight through. So I ended up beating the boss unofficially, and then the screen very quickly alternated between a frame displaying “You lost!” and a frame displaying “You won!”

It really gave me the impression that the game had understood that I was trying to cheat, and was mocking me by saying: “Yes, you won, but we know very well that you cheated”.

In short, a happy bug that I'm delighted to have met.

There are plenty of games to try for this boss rush jam, but maybe I'll try again later to get through this one the right way.

In the meantime, well done on a well-executed submission :)

Thank you! My team and I made several fixes, including those addressing this bug. Thanks for pointing it out and playing our game!
