I hope that when they make a video about the jam talk a little about all the games that didn't make it to the end, not only the most popular ones that everybody picked.

I don't want to be annoying, but that is clearly communication between dev and against the rules. The next one to pick up the game should do whatever he wants with it, even if it goes against the intentions of the previous dev.

Hey, nice work !

mine here : https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2190974

2d platformer about ghosts

Good job everyone !

I would like however that we honor a minute of silence for all those games made with love that no one picked up on day 1 and 2. May they find peace in the afterlife.

my day 1 ranger project got 3 variations on day 3 :
by sir kidedan : https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2191644

by sighet_ : https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2191659

by DecCatBurner :https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2190275

and my day 3 submission : https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2190974

I would love to see any of those reach the end of the jam.

Wow a third ranger game. I didn't think it would be so popular ! Good job !

I am no expert but I think taking a game from one engine and transfering it to another one is doable, but necessitate a lot of time and effort. Not worth it for this jam as you wouldn't have time to do much, if anything to the game you pick.
A shame we didn't see many Unreal engine games during the jam.

awesome man !

Oh I see. That would be annoying on very large projects. It would have been ideal for the first day when the games were small, but on I guess passing the folder is the best solution.

Thanks.

Awesome man !

Hey I was wondering. Wouldn't it be easier to share the files of an unity project to export all the assets in a Unity package, then share the package and then import it in a new project ? I see many people here sharing directly the zipped project folder or a link to download the folder, but the unity package seem to take much less space and be faster to download.

I just finished and published the day 3 of Phantom Traverse.

Unfortunately I won't have time to participate in the last 3 days of the jam. I hope my game get pushed to the end though...

Go and check the day 3 submissions (you should have a link to day 3 in the overview of the jam). There you can download any game you like and continue it.
Don't forget to post link to the previous days in the description of your project.

Here is mine : https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2190974

check out day 3 here ! : https://itch.io/jam/day-3/rate/2190974

looks nice. I might continue this. i'll let you know.

edit : ok i'm currently working on it.

I don't know. I will need to check.

not yet. I just woke up. I'm gonna see what I can pick

Please someone continue the day 2 version of the ranger game I made on day 1 https://itch.io/jam/day-2/rate/2189696

Fumpledumb made so much good progress I would love to see it grow more.

I got the following message while trying to open the project in unity 2022 :

An error occured while resolving packages:

Project has invalid dependencies:

com.unity.rendez-pipelines.universal: Package

[com.unity.rendez-pipelines.universal@15,0,6]

cannot be found

Anyone else?

edit: I opened the project anyway and it got several compilation errors concerning invalid dependencies and missing assembly reference.

I joined a screenshot

Help, I can't open the docx file. what program do you use to open it ?
I'm trying to use OpenDocument, but it asks me to pick a filter and there is like a few dozens of them I don't know which one works.

I haven't seen anything similar, but don't lose hope, still more than 3 hours left

maybe this one ? https://itch.io/jam/day-2/rate/2188993

I think it's fine if different people work on the same game. It's interesting to see how the same game can develop with different ideas.
The BlackThornProd team did say that some games would be left behind.

Post a link to your day 2 game here if you nobody downloaded your game.
Don't forget to add precision about the engine you use and which version.

Awesome man ! I was afraid it would be left behind.
Thanks ;)

no, I modified this asset https://darkpixel-kronovi.itch.io/rogue-knight

and used this one for the monsters : https://luizmelo.itch.io/monsters-creatures-fantasy

I tried working on this project, but as a beginner I couldn't understand what was going on in the script.
I know we're not supposed to communicate, but some comments to explain the technical stuff would be appreciated next time.

my day 1 : https://itch.io/jam/day-1/rate/2187761

made in Unity 2021.

A 2D platformer with melee combat and waves of enemy to fight.

Hi.

I'm thinking of starting day 1 by making a prototype for a 2D game in unity.

However I don't know if I should create a standard 2D project or a 2D URP project. What is the difference between both and what is the best ?

Thanks in advance.

ok. So as I said, what is stopping me from starting to work on my prototype right now, and then release it at the end of day 1 ?

I'm not saying that this is what I would do, just trying to understand that's all.

So I was wondering, the jam starts in about 24 hours. Will a theme be announced ? or is it open ?

I'm asking, because I don't see what is stopping people from starting to work on the day 1 prototype right now.

Thanks in advance.
