Hey, there, no problem.
I'd wait a couple months for the full script to come out, but feel free to start now if you want.
Thanks for the results, and nice walking through them. Just my two cents on some points:
I don't think the horror FVN "popularity" comes from authors trying to please the audience or feeling pressure coming from them, but rather that it's more so the authors themselves the ones interested in the genre (kind of like the joke that FNV authors are more interested in incest than their audience, which this survey proves false).
As for the Patreon vs single payment question, while unfinished games and "bad actors making minor updates just to cash in" are a reality, another thing to consider is total investment. Sure, 1-5 USD a month may not feel like much and it helps with development by covering art/writing/etc. costs, but your average FVN takes years to finish (if it does in the first place), and it would not be unusual that you'd end up spending hundreds of dollars in total (for example, if you had backed Echo from the beginning at their lowest tier, that'd be 207 USD, which is over ten times what the results consider a fair price for a FVN that they absolutely love).
Mobs and gambling are certainly two genres that I enjoy, so it's not surprising that this one caught me right from the get go. Nice setting and art, though the pacing feels a little rushed both before and during the game part (which in all fairness, may be as a result of this being a jam entry).
I find it curious that for somethin dealing with an actual game, we as the players do not have any way to influence any of the outcomes (so far), which I could see it coming both from a game jam and narration perspective; and I'm not completely sure here if the story benefits or gets hindered from that decision.
After reading the previous comments, it bears repeating: gorgeous presentation. Very cohesive and atmospheric. While short, we got enough information about the setting, lore, and characters to get a clear idea of where the story might be going in the future. My only nitpick would be that the cover image and the screenshots give more of a horror vibe, while what we got (so far) is more so of a not-so-dark urban fantasy.
Looking forward to seeing more Nino (otherwise, changing my comment and rating).
An interesting premise for sure and one that I'd like to see more of in the future, though at times the game did make me wonder how much was compromised due to it being a jam entry. Leaving aside some of the issues others have mentioned (like the lack of sound in general, or issues with the textboxes), the narration at times felt like it was setting up an upcoming choice or interactive scene (clearest example being at the end), yet the game remained completely linear all the way through; which makes me wonder whether choices were planned and it was all streamlined for jam purposes, or if what we got was the intent all along for this act.
A cute story with a charming art style and a potential good use of the theme. Quite an interesting choice for a game still in development in that, unlike most other works I've seen in this jam (including my own), the missing block lies right in the middle of it, which allows players to still see how things will eventually get resolved. A choice that I personally approve of, but that I could see alienating people that are more averse to "spoilers".
Guess I'll have to play Alones while I wait for the rest to come out, and to notice the tie-in...
I have a complicated relationship with gothic as a genre, but I'm glad to count this among the ones I've enjoyed. Dreary and melancholic with a good use of repetition from both a narrative and ludic perspective. Sound direction top notch as well.
Overall, the best one I've played so far for this jam.
Hyao mentioned that he was skipping the February update here because on January we got 2 updates instead of 1 (putting us at the same patch version as the Patreons).
On Patreon he did make an update last month, and while this month's is late (by one day), it has been like that pretty much every time.
In previous versions of the game it was easy, as soon as you woke up, going to work for boss and then immediately back home did the trick, but now that they changed how energy works think it might be more difficult.
While annoying, you can just go back to and from between the neighborhood and home until it triggers, since don't think you have the wolf/boar during that chapter.
