Thanks! That's fair, in some ways, the mechanic is a holdover from Alien Soldier and SomnaBuster that I included moreso because it felt natural to me rather than something the game really needed, though I will say there's more sections later on where it matters.

Sorry for the late response. I provided the Linux version I used for SteamDeck compatibility as-is but don't have a way to test it myself, as I don't use Linux. I couldn't find anything helpful searching your error code or the 'permission denied' bit.
I'll add a notice to the Itch page for others so they don't make an accidental purchase. Itch offers a refund policy if you contact them directly. If I can offer anything else as compensation for the trouble, let me know. Sorry :/
Hi everyone from the 1-Bit Jam!
Since the contest, I've been using my experience from Tetherlure to start work on a new platformer: SomnaBuster. It's a fully 2D-animated adventure across multiple worlds with highly-interactive environmental hazards and a YM2151 soundtrack.
The first demo is playable at this Itch.io page: https://pd-cgt.itch.io/somnabusterI hope you all check it out!
Cycle Chaser H-5 is a horizontal shoot-em-up. Weave through enemy shots, take them out at close range, then convert their energy into a powerful bomb that can defeat even more enemies. Master your tools to create an endless loop of energy and damage.
Other features:
-Scoring system inspired by Ketsui
-FM Synth music using the MD YM2612+SN76489
-Multiple difficulty modes for shmup newcomers
-Unlock special character info in the R&D Reports
-Track your best scores chronologically in the My Chronicle mode
