Anything could happen, and I would enjoy working on another project like this again someday if the opportunity presents itself. But I said that a year ago too and things haven't improved, so I'm not trying to get anyone's hopes up.
I know most people don't like anything AI generated, but I was having a lot of fun with NovelAI. It helped my writing flow more smoothly, but it was even more fun with the art side of things, since I can't draw for beans.
You're correct, they were exclusively paid releases for quite a long time. My personal situation and story is a bit complicated, but suffice to say I continue to struggle financially even now, and this was one of my only sources of income for a couple years. I created these during a time when I was convinced I was going to be making games as a career, but that didn't really pan out.
Aside from the short "Why Diapers, Anyway?" release, and one other SFW creation on a different account, I had never really managed to complete any of my other game pursuits fully to my original vision or satisfaction, and questioned if the value I had been able to provide to people was actually worth the money paid. I know that can be subjective, but the answer I kept coming back to with these was "not really."
And so, after a long while considering things, once I realized I had essentially failed (financially at least) in the game creating endeavors I had imagined for myself, I decided to change the games to be released on a donation basis. This way more people could enjoy them without the paywall barrier, the failure to meet peoples' expectations for their money spent would no longer be an ongoing issue, and anyone who appreciated the creations could still donate if they wished.
I realized it might make others who had already paid for the games feel a little upset, but I understand that position too and am willing to discuss that with folks. I mainly didn't want to keep creating more and more situations like that as time went on. I could have simply deleted the games entirely, but I felt that releasing them to the public freely was a more appealing option overall, even if that came with its own complications.
I started with v0.1.9 and now on v0.2.0 and really enjoying the experience! I just wanted to note here an issue I have come across a few times in both versions.
When you visit a "?" space and you get the same event and reward a second time, the game seems to soft lock for me, with the "Continue" button becoming inactive when claiming the same reward in the 2nd instance.
I've had this happen with the demon shield, as well as the glory hole when it heals 10 HP. It seemed okay when other results happened for the same ? event (demon sword, then demon shield worked fine) but when you have an identical result a second time, this seems to happen for some event types.
All that said, I am playing the Windows build on Linux via Wine, so if this issue is not possible to reproduce normally, it may be something that only happens in my more obscure situation. Either way, I figured I should mention it just in case it is impacting others too.
Regardless, I'm really appreciating the variety and high replay value of the game so far, and I'm looking forward to future updates too.
I'd appreciate being able to see some basic statistics information in the Analytics page (or within an individual Collection itself) that shows how many views that our Collections have been getting.
It could be something like the "Posts" section of the Dashboard, which shows the number of views and likes of each Blog post, but apply that for Collections we've created.
And if possible, having a list like the "Referrers" section currently in Analytics, except it displays the numbers and URLs for the outgoing links clicked from any of our pages (Profile, Library, Collections, etc.) and not just the incoming links.
I have questions like: How many people are engaging with the Collections I've made? What Collections are the most popular, and what ones are not getting as many eyes on them? How many clicks are going to each specific game in a Collection? Which games are people visiting most from my Collection pages?
Things of this nature are what I'm really curious about most, and I don't see a way to determine this kind of information from our Dashboards or Analytics pages by default. Have I simply overlooked something that is available like this already?

With the mouse controls mention, it wasn't a complaint or anything. I'm familiar enough with RPG Maker MV to more or less know what to expect with mouse movement.
I was surprised that mouse controls worked fine for completing most areas, and just in case anyone else was trying to play it all the way through via mouse, I mentioned it so they would know it's mostly viable, but maybe not 100% unless they have a lot of patience and good reflexes.
And yeah... RMMV makes it difficult to modify certain options, like Auto Dash, by default. It's a manual, extra process to change it, as you mentioned. Not a big deal though. As long as people open the options menu to know it exists, they can easily change it themselves.
Since I'm not very familiar with it, I never would have guessed the reference to the Guilty Gear franchise with the name, but that makes it more amusing knowing there was that kind of meaning behind it.
I enjoyed this game, and managed to find all the endings except for the second-to-last one on the list. I'm guessing it has something to do with that bear in the princess' room, but it still gives the same clue as before to "see more of the world" even after completing the game and seeing all the other endings. I tried everything I could think of, but maybe I'm just forgetting or missed something. Any hints on where I need to revisit or what I should be looking for?
Below I'll just add some thoughts on my experience...
The parts of the game that gave me the most trouble were the mysterious forest (figuring out how to progress, and catching the minor visual differences) the docks (surprisingly, trying to get all the endings there took me quite a few tries before I caught on) and the very last section was tough just to get through in time, but that's to be expected for the challenge to be the greatest at the end of the game of course.
Most of the game worked okay with mouse controls too, but because of how RPG Maker handles the path finding for that, some sections of the game, like the swamp and the last area especially, required too precise movement or timing for mouse controls to really work out well when there was also a time limit to contend with.
It was pleasantly free of errors during my play time too. My hat's off to you for that. It must have taken a lot of testing and tweaking the timing on everything to get it just right and error-free.
I think I noticed a few lines of dialog where the name box was shown as the princess when it was supposed to be a different character (in the potion shop in the city for example there was a line like that) but other than maybe 2 or 3 times of noticing that happen during the whole game, I didn't see much else amiss, and that's already a super minor issue anyways.
I would definitely suggest defaulting to "auto dash ON" in future updates or failing that, players can go into the options and turn it on themselves. I'm pretty sure certain parts of the game would be impossible to clear in time without dashing, or at least extremely difficult.
Also, since you named the project "Forward Punch" originally I'm assuming, it was slightly confusing at first to see the name of the folder when it extracted. The title is long though so, maybe even shortening it to "TPPPPPP" would still be a bit much. (Love the creative alliteration in the title too by the way.)
Overall though I had a lot more fun with this than I anticipated going into it, and I felt it was really creative and well put together.
I actually have started a sort of "Making of Petalpelago" tutorial project where I walk through the steps I took, including showing the prompts and everything that I used. I've attached a few relevant screenshots from it here. It's not even half-finished yet though, and my subscription ran out for Novel AI, and I can't currently renew it for the time being, so that's why things are "on hold" status for now. I'd like to continue with it, and Petalpelago too, sometime in the future if I'm able to, but I'm just not sure when or if that'll happen yet.
My lorebook entries were nothing special really, just a few defining details about the characters and a couple for the setting, and a few relevant keywords to get the AI to recognize them. I tended to use the default settings in most of the more complex Novel AI aspects, including the lore generator settings (AI Model: Kayra, Config Preset: Carefree.) Here's an example screenshot from the Making Of tutorial, but the actual ones I used were little more than this, and the default settings really.
A lot of the text was just hand written, and times when I did use the AI to prompt, I'd just try a few generations until something came up that I liked. If it was particularly good, sometimes I let the AI "run with it" on its own a little bit and see what it came up with, and made manual adjustments as needed, and then I'd take back over with the writing again and go for awhile. Back and forth like that pretty much. If I had to put it into numbers, I'd guess I wrote about 2/3 by hand and let the AI write 1/3 and adjusted it as needed.
I really was just getting started with using AI in the few months that I worked on this, so I don't think there's anything I did that couldn't be easily explained by beginners guides you can already find online. I hadn't even gotten an understanding of what all the settings in the lorebook and each advanced setting in Novel AI even did, let alone how to use them well.

And with the image generator, I remember I was using the NAI Diffusion Anime V3 model, I tended to stick to the default Euler sampler one too, and left the steps setting alone so as not to waste the Anlas, but I did find I got better image results most of the time by adjusting the Guidance to 6 instead of the default 5, but the 5 wasn't bad either.
Then it's all just a matter of trying different combinations and weights of prompts and negative prompts to fine-tune the output of everything. It took a lot of generations to start getting results that I wanted, and depending on the complexity of the prompt I could generate hundreds of "bad" results before I got "good" or even "decent" ones that matched what I was looking for sometimes. Other times the AI just didn't understand how to output the results I was looking for, no matter what combination of prompts I tried.
I definitely recommend at least trying the unlimited image generation package for one month for that reason alone, because you can really go all out with it.

On closer inspection, it seems Mediafire has a max 2GB file size limit for free accounts, so that might not be viable.
Pixeldrain (https://pixeldrain.com/) is another service I have seen other AVN devs use as an alternative to Google and Mega, and they allow up to 20GB files, no account required.
I have downloaded successfully from them in the past, so that might be an option you could look into at least for public releases.

I gave up trying to get the file from Mega after a handful of attempts (their service has really gone downhill lately for me in general) and I've tried over a dozen times to download it from Google, but it fails prematurely every time.

They're very reliable and have been around forever. I never have any trouble using their service for downloads. Even really large files download perfectly on the first attempt for me.

Mega seems to have gone downhill for me anymore. It's not just an issue for your game, but rather anything I try to download from Mega over 1GB or so fails mid-download at various points, and after enough failed attempts, I get their "quota exceeded, come back in 24 hours" message.
Mediafire on the other hand, is still very reliable, and works well for me without any issues even for larger downloads, so I'm grateful you make that an option too.
I would like to offer an android version at a future date, and I know a lot of people play on mobile, but for now the main story will remain PC only.
As for the browser version, unfortunately Itch.io does not allow paid software for the web version, so the demo version is the best I'll be able to do for that.
I'm having issues with both of these too unfortunately.
Would it be possible to try a multi-part, split archive approach? I think the main issue for me is that the file is just too large to get in one shot without failing on either hosting service.
It would be one way to work around the Itch file size limits to be able to host files directly, or make the downloads on Mega/Google more likely to complete successfully by breaking it into multiple smaller files.
7-zip (https://7-zip.org/) is one free cross platform software option that can handle creating split archives in multiple parts, as well as combining them back together.
Overdoll (https://overdoll.com/creators) (Help Page: https://overdoll.com/help) seems promising for digital artists, and I assume it could work for game creators as well, but it is currently invite-only, so I'm not sure it's quite ready for widespread adoption just yet. You could give it a try though and see if they allow you onto the platform? Their ToS and Community Guidelines both seem pretty reasonable and accepting. They apparently use Paxum (https://www.paxum.com/) for payment processing.
If it fully opens its doors someday to public registration, it may be a very viable option in the future, as there are no upfront costs for creators to use their platform, and they only take a fee of sales instead. For now though, it may just be like you mentioned of going with a payment processor that allows adult content, even if they are not as well integrated online.
It's a strange situation really. There needs to be a payment processor that's okay with taking "high risk" adult content related payments and dealing with the high rate of chargebacks etc. but that's also well integrated into various online platforms right next to Paypal, Stripe, and so on, to make it as easy as possible for people to choose it on the more popular sites and services. I'm sure it's all more complicated than I understand though, easier said than done.
From what I can tell, it seems many other creators impacted by this have moved to either PIxiv Fanbox, SubscribeStar, or both.
I would imagine SubscribeStar to be the easiest to transition to from Patreon, as it is the most similar, and they are okay with NSFW content generally. I'm not sure what their stance is on the AB/DL theme in particular though.
The crux of the issue isn't necessarily Patreon or similar sites, but rather the banks, payment processors, and so on, which have the strict policies in place of what they will and won't accept.
These entities hold funding hostage, even from the big name sites like Patreon, if they don't play by their rules. And in terms of adult content, such rules are often prudish, outdated, and discriminatory.
Meant to mention this weeks ago when I first checked it out, but I really enjoyed Ezri's new relationship level 5 content, more than I was expecting to. Sadly I can't think of a better way for early access downloads either. It's pretty inconvenient having to create a new itch.io page every month and direct people to make a new purchase on it.
Then you have to delete that page (or at least set it to Draft status so it isn't publicly facing) and replace it with a new one every month, so people don't accidentally get the wrong link and pay for the new public version.
I wish Itch.io offered a monthly support option (maybe on an account-wide basis rather than single game page?) that would grant access to specific supporters-only content. It would make these kinds of ideas a lot easier to implement. Who knows, perhaps someday they will.

I definitely enjoyed the content in the game! I played through till a little after day 50 and I believe I at least saw all the major relationship progression content that's available. Quite a lot more was packed in there than I imagined!

I did have some questions about allowing other girls to peek. I never seemed to get that to actually trigger. I see it's made in Ren'Py, but I'm curious what software you're using for the 3D models and background scenes, and the animation? If you don't mind sharing that is. If you would rather not, I understand perfectly there may be reasons to keep that information under wraps.
On another note, I wanted to bring something to your attention about the download for v0.55. I tried 3 or 4 times to download the Windows/PC release version from here, and though it appeared to work correctly and download fully, when I went to open the actual zip file, it was corrupted and would not load or extract like normal.
I ended up going to your Patreon page and finding the alternative download links post with sources from Mega.nz and Google Drive. I tried the zip file from Mega.nz and it worked perfectly on the first try, just like you would expect the normal experience to be.
It's possible it could have been an issue with my internet, but considering it failed on multiple attempts with the itch.io upload, and worked fine on the mega.nz one, you may just want to double check the zip file here, just in case others might be having issues too.

Professionally made games do not guarantee an enjoyable experience. If anything, I'm of the opinion that it is the indie game space that carries the passion and creativity of projects and ideas forward for video games more often than not these days.
This is a nice game. I enjoyed the writing and the art, I appreciated the inclusion of multiple paths/routes to play through, and the characters were interesting enough that I wanted to learn more about them both. After seeing all there was to see, I was just left hoping the stories would be continued someday, but even if not they reached a nice point of progression as it stands. It is my hope that more games like this may exist in the future, especially within this genre as they are few.
It's made all the more impressive knowing how short the usual game jam development cycles tend to be that you managed to provide this much content.
