This is great feedback, thanks a lot! The idea behind it was to be as minimal as possible in terms of indicating to the player where they were in terms of age - other than the visual representation of course. Just that time is ticking so keep moving and keep looking for the pills. The laughter itself was the only indication we gave (i.e. you better start taking those pills!). However, maybe an additional means of indicating to the player where in their “life cycle” they were would have been better!
I really like the end boss idea and it’s definitely something that would have added to the tension!
Thanks again for the feedback. It really helps us improve! :)
Played this with headphones and it did not disappoint.... Audio and game design were spot on and I really like how the theme was central to the gameplay loop. Everything contributed really well to the immersion. My two pieces of feedback:
1. The controls were rather sensitive. It did make my character look like a terrified mess at times (suddenly looking behind him XD) but I think maybe this could be tweaked?
2. Some parts were rather dark (getting the tools for example) and meant it was a bit tricky to see. I realise the design choice behind this, so perhaps making the torch (I think that lighting was from a torch) more powerful would help?
Overall I really enjoyed it! :)

I thought this was a very cool project! I haven't seen too many other games like it in this Jam, too! I do think it would benefit from an opening tutorial, but love that you can go pacifist! When developing it further, maybe some additional animations for enemy attacks would be good too! Well done and I hope you continue to work on this! :)
Just to echo the other comments, the controls are perfect! Really smooth to play and great tutorial placement! Music IS AMAZING!!!! My favourite thing about this game, and I do love a good slide feature!!! Unfortunately, I got stuck in a bridge, just after the first key section, but other than that, great job team!
If you're interested, feel free to check our game out! :)
You make a lot of good points and there are definitely holes in the "here take 20 games and review them OR ELSE" approach. I guess the point I was trying to get at was that it would be great to see everyone get some constructive feedback back from their games. Now I realise how difficult this is given over 8000 people entered and there are thousands of projects out there, and you're right, if you get an allocation that is barely playable, then it renders this a bit pointless. How about having a rating system that doesn't have a "winning goal" but instead just provides an indication as to the quality of your entry? Just ideas, and I think, as you said, this system works.
In the end we just have to hope that everyone is being upfront and honest (I think for the most part they are). In the end we're all winners, imo.
Thanks so much for the feedback! We wanted to make a short, but fun game and I'm glad there were bits you enjoyed! In the game time is constantly working against you and the enemies definitely make it worse! Thanks again for the feedback and congrats on making a very good game (I played yours - it's really good!). :)
The cutscenes!!! Wow! The concepts, visuals and audio were all awesome. I really enjoyed playing it and liked how intense it felt from the start. A few things that might be worth improving on are the controls (which were quite sensitive) and a few design choices, I noticed at times that I'd try and get an orb but it would miss me completely, leaving me stuck at a bridge. Really hope you keep working on this as there is loads of promise! Well done!
As much as I’d love as many people playing games we make as possible (and myself to be playing as many as possible) I think it would be interesting if every participant was given a random allocation of X number of games to review in these 2 weeks. That way everyone gets some feedback and that feedback may be more meaningful as each participant has a specific total to go through.
Meaningful feedback is way more important than ratings. I’d like to hope we all want to improve and make better games in future jams and meaningful feedback does a lot to aid that.
