This has a huge classic arcade look and feel, and it's pretty fun! I think the hitboxes could do with some work though; playing as the big chonky ship was weird because I had no idea where my hitbox was meant to be. The enemies were pretty neat, though there could be a bit more variety(however this is a jam and you've crammed a ton in already!), and I think the sound effects were pretty well done.
Interesting game, but with some problems:
The core gameplay is very fun, but reloading seems to be inconsistent like others have stated, and I think the game could do with more "juice" as killing enemies just isn't that satisfying, and you get very little feedback from taking damage. Weapons feel a bit unbalanced as well, and the shotgun seems to not fire as a shotgun would and works more like a pistol. The audio sounds pretty bad, and is way too loud: the AK-47 sounds very weird as well, and some weapons were incredibly loud. The visuals were neat, and the theme was fine.
Very fun game! The art is absolutely adorable, and the whole game is filled with charm. However, some small things:
It says use x to fire, when it's actually z
You can fall off of the side of the start screen, and it soft locks you!
However, considering you had only 2 days to make the game and all the art, then this is incredible!
A classic bullet-hell boss fight game! I like the theme though the description was slightly confusing.
This game definitely nails the "fun" part, all of the bosses were very hard without being too hard, and the whole game was just the right balance. I do think a big thing that subtracted from it was the fact that you have to constantly be rapidly clicking to deal damage and kill the boss before time runs out. Although the game is really fun, it COULD do with a bit more juice/polish
As for audio, well this game has none, so I can't really talk about it. The visuals are incredibly creative and look great, so congrats on that! They might not be the flashiest, but they're very consistent, which is important. I think on the aesthetics aspect, the game could do with a tad more polish, and by that I mean audio.
For theme, this goes for a more "boring" approach with a limit on time, but I think it still works well and fits.
To summarise, very very fun game, cool theme, neat art, but suffers from lack of audio and needs the ability to fire by holding down.
I have to admit i was not able to beat most of this because I'm using a trackpad, and will come back to it later once I can use the PC, but here's my thoughts:
Mouse sensitivity felt very high(because i was using a trackpad), and it felt incredibly hard to aim because I was unsure what was happening, but again, probably trackpad moment. The visuals were hands-down the best i've seen this jam so far, and the audio was incredible as well. Very juiced up game as well, and it has tons of polish, but a very big flaw which I will get to later. I don't think it implements the theme particularly well, but that's more optional anyways. And as for the big flaw?
There isn't a weasel, 1/10
Hehehe if I remember correctly then when I gave @thcheetah777 my concept for this game it was "what if we made vampire survivors"
This game is incredibly creative, and I think what it scores highest on for me is the theme and the way it implements it. And as a slight biology nerd, I have to say the idea of fighting bacteria is pretty awesome as well. However, I think it has some flaws.
The audio is.. Not the best, though the music seems to be made from in-game sounds or the like, and it sounds incredible. However, the sound of the bullets firing felt a bit shrill and hurt my ears slightly. I think it might need to be toned down slightly.
As for the "fun" aspect of the game, this nails it pretty well! Getting that basic gameplay loop of dodging and weaving as well as nailing a far-off enemy is really satisfying. I think the gameplay could do with some more polish and juice, though. For example, killing an enemy is not as satisfying as it could be, with just a dull thud and the said enemy vanishing. Perhaps you could add some screenshake and some particle effects to make the enemies be funner to kill? Furthermore, you could also add some particle effects and screenshake on death as well. However, the game is still very fun and interesting.
As for the visuals, I think they struggle from lack of consistency. For example, the text is in a completely different style to the game's pixelated art style, and the amount of pixelation seems to vary quite a bit. However, the pixel art itself is pretty good! For the sides of the game, I would recommend adding some sort of texture to them to help them be more visually interesting.
To summarise, this game has an incredible concept and nails the theme head-on, but struggles in some of the other areas and may need some more polish and juice. However, it's still a great game, and don't let my criticism pull you down!
Fun game, there's a bug where with bullet canister you can continue shooting even when your ammo's out with full auto weapons, and you shoot a full shot with the shotgun even at 1 or 0 ammo.
I did swords, AK stock, minigun barrel, full auto trigger, rubber grip, and all the other firerate stuff plus bullet canister.
Ammo management? Never heard of it.
