Hey Wombat, one of the organizers here. I’ll get you a submission link later.

Posting this here so I don’t forget. I think one thing that can improve the flow of the game is not requiring the player to press A to advance/dismiss the overlay/notices. Since they don’t overtake the screen (which I like) it feels counter intuitive to dismiss them. I know that would mess up the grand total display, so either that can be relocated to an empty space, like the bottom left of the dice area, or simply give the alerts a timer to disappear (like a few seconds).
Love playing this!
I’m one of the hosts (answering from my mobile device). You are welcome to submit, and while it’s not explicitly stated, it might be rejected as it’s not exactly “pixel art” and instead is a game asset. We’re looking for works that will function in a gallery, but I’ll reserve any judgements until I see it.
Hey Lacoste! I believe the plan is to hold the next competition next year to give more time for planning and execution (also give the judges a bit of a break). As far as I know there is no separate category for GB Studio games, and I don’t think there will be one for the nature of the compo, but there may be separate events in the future from other organizers.
I just realized I didn’t link my FAQ when I transferred my skins to itch. Hoping this guide helps: https://proximitysound.com/skins/usb/
I know for me the d-pad was mapped to x/y values on my SNES USB Clone controller.
