Interesting take on the power theme. The game looks and sounds nice. Short and sweet. Nice work!

This game has a cool concept and interesting mechanics. The filter made the text in the beginning a little hard to see, but wasn't too intrusive during gameplay. The atmosphere definitely conveys that feeling of isolation.  I hope you have the opportunity, once the jam is over, to fix the bugs you mentioned on the webpage. This game has a lot of potential. Nicely done!

I love manta rays! This game is super chill. It would be nice if there was a little more to it, but judging by what the webpage says, you had some really cool ideas and just ran out of time. Totally understandable. After the jam is over, I hope you guys get to add everything else you wanted. Nice work!

The controls are smooth. I like that each item has its own sound upon collection that's a nice touch!

This game is so cute! The artwork and music are spot on. The controls are smooth. It would be nice to have a visual hit indicator on the enemies (i.e. a blink effect or color change) when they take damage. I thought my shots weren't hurting them for the longest time because I couldn't see any difference. I would also recommend putting the music on a continuous loop so it isn't as obvious when the track ends and begins again. This game really nails the bubbly anime vibe and I love the concept overall. Great work to everyone involved!

This was an enjoyable game! The artwork looks nice and the power grid makes setup interesting. It would be helpful to be able to look at the defenses from other angles, as it could be difficult to see everything. Eventually, I just focused on the amount of power rather than the objects themselves and that made things a little easier to keep track of. It would be great to either have an option to discard items you don't need or convert them into power. If there is a way to do so, I couldn't figure it out. Great work overall!

This was a cool experience. Once I realized the inputs weren't quite as random as I initially thought, I tried to create something with a little more structure. However, the chaos would soon take over and I would inevitably devolve into button mashing once again. I love your take on the Power theme as well. Nice work!

This is a fun little tactics game. It starts out deceptively easy, but by level 4, you really have to start thinking about what you're doing. By level 5, it actually becomes quite difficult. The movement sound could be a little quieter since it's heard so often, but that's a pretty small thing. Nice work!

I really like the concept, artwork, and ambience. The combination card / bullet hell battles are unique. It would be nice if the setting, storyline, and power theme were incorporated more into the game. I wouldn't have been sure what the game was about if I hadn't read the description on the webpage (at least not until the game over screen). It's a cool game overall. Good work!

The lighting and colors are nice. I love the way the character glows while near a lamp. The hitbox might need some adjustments. I was hit by an enemy who was nowhere near me. This was a short and sweet little game. Nice work!

I love the lighting, ambience, and character design. The puzzle format is nice. I like how it opens more shortcuts the further you progress. The puzzles themselves remind me a bit of Little Big Planet. I really enjoy your take on the Power theme. The failure counter is a nice touch too. I did stick to the wall a couple times while falling down a shaft, but all I had to do to get unstuck was jump. Great work!

I love the upgrades and the retro feel! It would be nice to be able to collect the upgrades from slightly further away (or while running by). It seemed like I had to stand right on top of them. The ship looks great. The power shots are fun. Nice work!

That's a fun thought. I guess we ARE essentially gambling with our lives.  Thanks for playing our game. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

(1 edit)

When I saw that there was a game involving boba tea, I had to play it! I love the premise. It's like Coffee Talk meets visual novel, but with magical powers. It would be nice if there was a way to visually differentiate the narration text from the dialogue text (maybe italics or something). I like the character designs and how the story has different routes. The music was chill, though it would be cool if the music looped rather than stopping and starting each time the song ends. I love the representation and accessibility settings!

As for the minigame, it took me a minute to realize I had to click the corresponding text box to finish the drink. The 404 Not Found box was fun. I actually got stuck in the minigame a couple times. I had made the drink correctly, but it would not accept it. I closed the game and tried again. That seemed to fix it. I think the bug occurred when I would complete the game and start a new one without closing the application (I wanted to see the different routes). Overall, this is a short, sweet, chill game. There is a lot of potential here. Keep up the good work!

The design caught my eye immediately. Once I saw that the player controls a robot with a lizard companion, I knew I had to try it. I enjoyed the level design and gameplay. The controls feel good. My only issue was that I would sometimes double jump when I only pressed the space bar once. The vehicle controls were also a bit rough, but nothing major. I enjoyed the concept. The voice-line cues (missing a jump, taking too long, etc.) were a nice touch. The end sequence was a lot of fun. This is very impressive considering the timeframe. Great work!

Cute and bleak! Two of my favorite things. The art, music, and sound are all great. The presentation is very clean and the gravity mechanic is neat. The ambience conveys a feeling of existential dread (but in a good way). It's a nice contrast to the upbeat, cheerful environment and character design. It took me a little while to figure out what I was meant to do and I was never able to solve the music puzzle. I read what you wrote about the puzzles getting messed up, so I understand. The timeline made certain things tough. Great work all the same!

I love the lighting and ambience, but I especially love the fire animation. It looks great. A more stylized menu would add a lot to the overall feel. My lantern bar in the upper right corner always looked full, so I'm not sure what it was meant to convey. There was also some strange cropping at the end, even though I had the image in full screen, but maybe that was just because I played the browser version. Nice work overall!

This game has great energy! I like the colors used for the environment. It looks cool. I did find a potion out of bounds. I'm not sure if the borders expand later or if it wasn't meant to be there.

Thank you so much! I spent a lot of time on the background art, so it really means a lot to hear that people like it. I agree that the others did a great job with the music and power bar. Glad you enjoyed the experience!

Thank you so much! That means a lot. We had a blast putting all of the different pieces together!

This is a great-looking game! I love the colors. The music, sound effects, and visuals all come together to create almost an otherworldly atmosphere. Great job, to everyone involved!

Fun concept! I really enjoyed the music and the "game board" area. It was a bit unclear to me what the Horror cards did. I definitely saw the effects of the -5, but I'm not sure about the "Round Score x2." The other cards were pretty straight forward. It would be nice to be able to move past the end-of-day screens more quickly.  Nice work overall!

Cute, simple game. The kitty screensaver is adorable. Sometimes, it would appear to lag a bit while the kitty was waking up (the transition from the orange bar to the blue bar). I'm not sure if that's just because I played the browser version though. Everything else seemed to work as intended, but I just may see that boss kitty paw in my nightmares. Nice work!

This game has a very retro look, feel, and sound. I enjoyed the animations for the checkpoint, explosions, and especially the tesla coil projectiles. It would be nice to have a visual indicator that my shots are hitting the enemy. The keyboard controls were rough, but I had a much better time after plugging in a controller. Pretty cool that you have controller support. Good work!

I love the name. The premise is intriguing and fits well with the power theme. The interactive controls are a nice touch, though there were a few instances where the document kept getting stuck on my screen no matter how much I signed it. In other instances, it worked quite well. The art, animations, and sound design are nice. The sound effects seem maybe a bit loud compared to the menu music and ambient sounds. Nice work overall!
