I'm a bit late to the comment party, but I just wanted to congratulate you on making a fun game to this jam. I really enjoyed it. I especially liked how smooth the controls were.

This was an amazing experience! It looked really nice, and the way that you took the theme to making day and night 2 different types of games was very creative. The colours in the game were pleasing to look at, and the controls felt very good. Relaxing and fitting music.
But none of that is important, because whoever thought of putting a random dancing cow in the corner is a genius!
I forgot to answer the second part of your question :-| So the original plan was this:
Introscene with the man walking (taking one step per scene). On the first picture he's seen surrounded by many friends, smiling while walking and he is young. On the top a text reads (this text never got any further than a draft) : "Bjorn was a happy man, living life to the fullest and enjoying every second of it."
As the pictures go on he's getting older and almost all the words fade away until we're left with "Bjorn was a man, living." (or something along those lines).
Last picture before game starts he let's a random cat in the door, ignoring it and then sits down.
Game starts.
When all the strings were collected the player would loose control of the cat, and the cat would jump up into Bjorns lap, falling asleep. At the same time the text would show up again, and the word "happy" would fade into the text again making it read " Bjorn was a happy man, living". Then, right as the screen goes dark as the game closes, the word living fades away as Bjorn closes his eyes.
That level with the crazy moths flying up and down!!!???!!! I didn't have a chance!
Fun little game. Love that you put effort into writing different "death-screens". Crazy hard at times ;) ;)
For constructive critisism I would mention that it bugged on me on some levels where touching the portal didn't take me to the next level. Also some kind of sound would have been nice.
Other than that, good job!
*Edit: Oh, and also. best way to defeat a boss!!
Hi! Thank you for the feedback😃 You are absolutely correct, audio is important and I had a plan to hold a bowl of cat food over my cats head to get it to meow into a microphone so I could use that each time the cat jumps, but I never got around to do it. I regret not putting that higher on my to do list, as it is, as you say, an important asset for the enjoyment of the game.
Thanks again for the feedback, and I’ll make sure to try out your game(s) as soon as I get off work😉
