That's my bad, honestly. It's my job to make a game accessible and enjoyable by everyone. I had a hard time determining how to balance the game right, even with playtesting.

I really wish I had time to do audio, it's true that something important is missing. Thanks for the feedback!

Done!

I finished the game. Taking over NPCs is a really interesting concept for a game, I might steal it for one of my future projects. :)

Also I discovered a glitch where it is possible to take control of 2 enemies simultaneously if they were close enough to each other. I had fun ganging on the next enemies by shooting with 2 guns.

Done!

The idea is simple and straightforward, but fun nonetheless, although it is very difficult. Also, awesome tune!

Thank you!

Post your games here, so I may rate them and give constructive feedback. I would off course gladly take your rating in return. :)

First come, first served, but I will prioritize those who are still under 20 ratings. I will try to do them all until the deadline.

Edit: I should mention I can only do windows and browser games.

I had a hard time figuring out how to interact, but I pulled it off. The game is pretty damn fun though. I also appreciated the fact that losing doesn't reset your inventory, so you get to try more weapons. Good work overall. :)

Here's mine. :)

I'm that guy usually. I can't believe tables have turned.

The only reason there are no sounds in the game is because I ran out of time :(. Same goes for the baby display. As for the keybinding, I actually didn't think of that factor, thanks for bringing it up.

I agree with 100% of what you said. Thanks for the constructive feedback!

You'd be surprised how wholesome this community is. If you don't believe me, just look at the answers preceding mine.

Do it above all for yourself like the others said, but remember that in a marathon like this, merely submitting something we worked hard for (even a very flawed game) is worth celebrating. Come join the party!

Just wanted to take this opportunity to remind y'all that this is a marathon. It sure feels great to win, but finishing in time, even with an incomplete project, is already a victory. Remember that this is above all a learning experience.

GLHF!! :D

Wow lots of different countries!

Canadian here :)

Turns out the raters too dug your mixtape :P

Aight, thanks to all the posters, I enjoyed playing your games. Good luck, and see you in a next jam. :D

Omega23, out!

Done! Indeed, not an easy job! I found it a bit confusing by times to organize my stuff, but it was pretty fun nonetheless. :)

I'm not gonna lie, I don't miss the VHS era lol. Bob deserves a raise.

Done! I must say, that game FAR surpassed my expectations after looking at the cover. It is surprisingly complete. I never would have thought of using the theme as a pac-man kind of mechanic where the player is now on top of the food chain, just brilliant. The music is very enjoyable, and I find the simplistic art style actually pretty well placed. Great job overall, definitely one of the best games I looked at in this thread!

I scored 126. :)

Done! Quite simple, but the game is well built, and it works. For example, the game didn't have to hold my hand for me to understand how to beat the pink nurses, and I appreciate it. I like the sprites, and the music is just out of this world! :D

Done! It's always fun when people fill their games with personality. It felt like an adventure. :)

Also I talked the heck out of Asoko, and there's nothing she can do about it. >:)

Done! Really nice and well polished. Cute little story as well. You didn't have to give the machine a personality, but you still did, and that makes the game 100x more charming. The spritework is also to be praised. :)

Done! I really like how the game was built. The player could technically just go for the finish right on their first try, but then they wouldn't score anything. So really, they must gamble their patience away. The greedier they are, the more pounds of gold are at stake, and the longer they'd have to grind if they were to fail. Really nice gameplay!

Done! I couldn't get passed killing the 3 skeletons, but it sure felt good to swing my blade like there's no tomorrow. The graphics and sounds were both on point. Good job!

Didn't work. I'm sorry, I really wanted to try your game. :/

Sorry, I seem to be unable to play.

After I installed and unzipped the folder, I tried to open "Reverse Engineer (Release)", but the game crashes every time before it fully opens. I tried to install what was in "troubleshooting" as well, but the results didn't change. Am I doing this right?

Done! I'll never say no to puzzles, and I like the twist the backwards mechanic adds to them. Good idea. :)

But I didn't want to kill mr. Big Screen, he tried to fix me. ;(

Done! The theme is pretty well implemented. My concern is that, in the first part, there doesn't seem to be any threat of defeat. Because, well, if the player were to encounter a hostile monster, they can just rewind, et voilà. The challenge is missing.

The second part is different. The player has a preset amount of lives and must escape the king of monsters before their life counter falls to 0. There is now a threat of losing, and that tiny difference alone makes the second part already a lot more fun. Well done!

Done! It's fun, I played until the end despite failing so many times. Great graphics, and great audio!

Done! Definitely original, bungee jumping didn't cross my mind when I brainstormed after the theme was revealed.

The game is quite fun, but I would tune down the difficulty a bit. There was a lot of stuff coming at me. If you're worried about making it too easy, leading to the player surviving forever, you could instead choose some system in which difficulty increases over time.

Good job overall though!

Done! Simple, but the challenge is there, and that's all that's needed in a game to make it fun. Though I must say, I found even the easy mode is a bit too hard. Maybe playing the same game with the keyboard would help. Or was it playable with a keyboard? I didn't know.

Good work nonetheless! Being able to make a game fun without making it complex is definitely important in the world of game design. :)

Done! It's one of these games that was fun enough for me to play many many times. I couldn't figure out how to rewind, but out of stubbornness I managed to reach the end of the 3 minutes. I scored 47 100. Great tune too!

Done! The art style may seem rough at first, but I do think it could have a solid impact in a game given the right context. You're giving me ideas. Inspiring!

Done! Using the rewind mechanic to synchronize the player and the enemies "advantageously" is an original take on the theme. I don't recall any game doing something similar to that extent in this jam so far. Good idea!

Done! The way the rewind mechanic is used to construct a path is interesting, and I think it has a lot of potential. Well done!

Done! The game is down to earth and easy to understand. Even if little information was given, I was able to figure out what to do and which item is which with ease. The song is pretty soothing too.

I encountered some UI problems, probably due to the screen resolution. I too find it a headscratcher in the games I make sometimes.

Good work, and nice easter egg! ;)

Done! The game was well thought out, I didn't encounter any game-breaking flaw with the game's mechanics, which is pretty awesome for a jam game. Nice spritework too!

Now I want to play Undertale again...

I got around 22k I believe. Unexpectedly, the basic purple ones ended up being my bane, even later in the game, because there's so many of them that come from all sides, and because they camouflauge themselves pretty well lol. The red ones were the easiest enemies because they didn't feel too threatening, and they weren't rewarding enough to chase. :)

I agree, the game had so much potential, but because of the limited time, I cut a lot from the game, I bled it dry. I had originally planned to introduce more items, as well as hiding spots.

Very clean! My only concern is that there's no easy way to learn how to play. I had trouble in my few games because it's only after a while that I figured out I could shoot stuff.

The game looks and sounds good, and even if it's simple, the fun is there, and that's what's important. Well done!
