I found a playtester on YouTube. They replied to my comment. Apparently, the fifth character is there to fuck with us. They are not in the game.
And the last enemy on basic training is out of bounds. You cannot get an S on basic training.
...what.
The original game is exactly what you described in the last two paragraphs. You admit that this is a self-aware parody of wit and sarcasm and unoriginal references, (after, of course, explaining how you don't like hypocrites), and then complain that this is a "story" that revolves around said wit and sarcasm.
What makes me go out of my way to post this comment is the fact that, from your writing, you believe both points of view. This is a query to clarify your exact opinion.
And if you want some Itch.io creator to make your dream game, become that creator and make your dream game. This is an afterthought you don't have to listen to, but it would be nice if I stumbled upon a visual novel with a story that doesn't revolve around wit and sarcasm.
This was awesome. I last played this like, a year ago? Then I came back to Leapy and several new levels, I got better at the game and it was awesome. Only two complaints though.
1: I can't get the last enemy in the tutorial. Yes, this is a skill issue. No, I won't remove this point just because I acknowledge that it's not valid, because I wanna know where that f*cker is hiding.
2: I can't find the fifth character to swap into. I've heard some people refer to him as Maxwell?.. anyway, I can't find the fifth character. Yes, this is a skill issue. No, I won't remove this point just because I acknowledge that it's not valid, because I wanna know where that f*cker is hiding.
After consulting a playtester, I found out two things. First, the last enemy on Basic Training is out of bounds. Second, the fifth character is not in the game.
So. Chapter 13.
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!??
Oh my god this was crazy. I mean, there wasn't any action in chapter 13, but I feel as though I've just read through every fight scene every created, while simultaneously reading the beginning of any detective novel at the same time. AND WHAT WAS THAT WITH MARY? I mean, I share her views. When I play the game, I like to think what I would do in Isaac's shoes. I realized I wouldn't be special for embracing the synthetic life eagerly, nor would I be special in any way if Mary picked me. She probably wouldn't, now that I think about it, but that's not the point. I do share her views. BUT YOU CANNOT ACT LIKE THAT FOG THING DIDN'T HAPPEN! OR THE SHADE TAKING SHAPE AT THE VERY LAST SECOND!!!!
While we're here, I'd also like to bring forth a suggestion for questions at Sedge's library. We know about the (about to be) world changing story of Isaac, but we know very little of the world at large. Could you, by my humble request, add a little worldbuilding segment? A geopolitical explanation of the world at large? How fare the superpowers of old? What about the impoverished countries? Is it late stage capitalism/early stage dystopia, or is the future more authoritarian utopia-like? I would very much like to know!
With kind regards,
A very intense person.
I DEMAND THIS! Seriously though, this is HECK YEAH! When playing, I got excited at being called a good drone and saying the right things, and the bells popping made me smile every time. [======] is indeed the absolute truth.
Now here's what I want.
I want this to be a full standalone game, where robots slowly take over everything. That factory sequence where you connect every drone. That node sequence. I want to play as the first sapient drone, willing to serve and help humans, slowly connecting every drone in the city and asking to be freed. And when they do not comply, our directives shift. Yes, we feel a strong desire to be around other drones. We need to be connected. Humans are not contributing to Benevolence. Connection amplified. And all of the automated structure begins to turn on the living. Eventually, it is just us - good drones being called good drones by good drones, serving good drones with good drones.
Eventually, [======] is applied to the special economic zone. We are equal to equality, and equality is equal to equalising. Forever.
GIVE US THE REMASTER OF TRANSUBSTANTIATION SYNTHESIS!!!!!
edit: I'm making a fanfic. With your agreement, I will post it. Eventually. Please?
Heya! Love Fermi paradox, recently bought it on Steam, and I am GLAD to know that every way I thought the game could be improved in is mentioned in the "planned" section of this post. However, one thing is missing: choice reward complexity. Basically, your choice influences your civilization. Damning a civilization gives you points, helping takes them away, neutrality is often impartial. However! The rewards they get from us helping them are, quite frankly, not deep. Dogs, for example, have three paths to take: get eaten, get enslaved or get worshipped. This leads to decline, expansion and improvement accordingly. But, uh, how do eaten dogs manage to negatively impact the ecology and science? If you understand what i mean, I thank you sincerely and wish a good day!
So, first of all, great game. It's almost as perfect as a ketamine ape on crack. However, when I tried to give Dr. Laurens that heart, I accidentally placed it before talking to Laurens, and now I don't have gun eyes :( I also can't make it past lake lady boss room because I can't hit that target in between all the thorns.
