Hmmm that's odd, I'm looking into it on my end but have not seen that happen.

One thing you could try while I search for a fix is running the tool as administrator and seeing if that changes anything!

Does clicking make it crash or does it not progress but stays open?

This is fixed in the 2.0.0 update!

It's finally fixed! I ended up porting the tool to Unity and completely rebuilding the interface but compatibility issues should be a thing of the past now!

I found one of my PCs with 22H2 and it is indeed crashing as you described where all of mine with 23H2 work as intended!

I'm looking into how to fix this now, fingers crossed there's something I can do about it on my end. I'm going to update the prerequisites on the page in the meanwhile.

It's not impossible that that's the cause but I have no idea why that would be the case 😭

I'll cross reference these with my Windows version to see if that really is the case though!

So I finally managed to reproduce the issue but the fix I found was still installing the .NET SDK linked in the install instructions. Once I installed .NET on the PC that it was crashing on as you described, it started working normally.

Beyond that I haven't been able to find any other reason it would crash or any potential fixes yet.

I'll leave the link to the download here just to be extra sure you got the right thing but if this didn't fix it on your end then the mystery continues to be mysterious :(

I'm betting there's some dependency missing that I can't pinpoint because all my PCs have whatever it is that it needs since I use them all for my work...

I did notice once way back that it might be throwing an error code before instantly closing that you could potentially screenshot by spamming alt + printscreen while it opens. If you manage to capture that, it would be a great help, but also I do NOT expect you to go that far for me. I will continue to debug and try to reproduce the issue on my end! You've already helped a ton so thank you so much for that!

Could you try putting the tool on your C drive to see if that changes anything? I don't think it will but it'll at least rule that out if it doesn't.

If you don't mind me asking, where on your PC did you place the files? And what version of Windows are you on?

Any extra details you're willing to provide may be able to help me pinpoint the issue faster!

I've had a few people report the same. I'm looking into it but current unsure what the cause could be since it works for some and not for others. I'll get back to you if I find a fix!

I figured out the issue! The application requires .NET as a dependency to run. Installing that would stop it from closing instantly!

I've also updated the install instructions to list that dependency. I hadn't realized it was required to run it because all my PCs have it installed already 😅

Did you extract all the files from the zip? I'm not able to reproduce it crashing on my end.

It also won't work with the itch app if you're trying it through that.

The copying functionality isn't working as of the latest patch so I'm working on a fix for that now but while I'm at that if I can figure out the cause for your crash I'll get it fixed too!

Font size slider added!

I don't think I can make the quest box change size but what I could do is add a font size slider for the description text like in FFXIV Dialogue Overlay Maker that could partially fix this issue!

It adds a rhythm game interface to Bard's Performance Mode and loads notes using the same midi files used by Bard Music Player!
