Please check it out - my game’s first trailer! :D Thoughts appreciated 🙏

https://youtu.be/9KaFoRP_9gQ?si=UJl4z05piyrR52pi

Game available at https://silverlock-media.itch.io/brick-breaker-lightspeed

BECAUSE ITCH IS A MYSTERY TO ME! I’m following a good few people to see what’s happening on here :D

  • Phil

Let us know what you would like to see in Brick Breaker Lightspeed below! :D

Just wanted to message in to say this was so nice to read. Good on you, George, for encouraging CreepyCuteGames for the selling. And massive good luck to BOTH of you on it all 😁

I love this feedback 🥰 What an achievement!

Re: Blocking the walking memory as soon as he enters the map will cause him to walk into the church.

I’m constantly coming back to this one, trying to understand the pathing. Perhaps a “block their path” mechanic was a bit optimistic.. v( ‘.’ )v

You are a ghost 👻 No physical body means the PERFECT EXCUSE FOR ALLOWING CLIPPING/NO COLLISION 🤣

As a last resort :P So don’t bang your head against a wall too much (:

Hey! No problem at all :D ! I understand fully about the interaction being a nice motivator. I am working on a game ATM called Brick Breaker Lightspeed ( https://silverlock-media.itch.io/brick-breaker-lightspeed ) which I wasn’t going to continue working on but seeing my younger sister enjoy it… Well, now I really want to polish it nice 👍

And seriously I had to hunt for the answer to your question! It’s so hidden! To review ratings: Game Dashboard > Edit Your game > Interact > Ratings and Reviews. Hopefully you can see the text writeup I gave :)

Nothing game breaking POSSIBLY. I wasn’t able to find the witch scrying but maybe that’s because it wasn’t obvious enough for me.

And best of luck with it 😃 Gonna be cool little title to have done! By Halloween – you are doing it right \o/

That’s a very scary concept. Good call!

Update: Controls are pending a rework. Will update here when this is set to a more testable state!

You’re most welcome! :)

Hey! Super cool to see a TT game here! Have you considered hosting games yourself online & inviting an open table of people to play? Might be a wicked way to get feedback straight away :D

Hi there! I haven’t been able to download and play your game because I don’t have a laptop capable (I am running a potato). Did want to comment to say that your store page is really nicely done though!! Best of luck with it :D

Quick feedback: “Light On is a psychological survival horror experience where you play as [REDACTED] Trap through bunker tending to find, survive, solve and escape. “ I don’t understand this sentence. Is this intended?

Hi ! I gave the game a test, a review and a rating :D Hoping the feedback helps! Take the moment to finish up the game, it’s super good for a first!!! Scope is fantastic - nothing too crazy. And it’s perfect for Halloween!

Looking forward to the chance you change your name as per your Profile message :D Going to say I love the aesthetics. Yes, it’s very clearly a beginner game - but it’s unapologetically so, and it’s very endearing. Good luck! :D

Just as a heads up I’m still going to be checking out your games - I’ve not been at my work PC for a while but when I’m able I’m there :D

Massive thank you for trying out the game and the review! Glad you liked it :)

Likewise 🙏 would love your rating/feedback on Brick Breaker Lightspeed if you have a moment :D (it’s a browser game) https://SilverLock-Media.itch.io/brick-breaker-lightspeed

I’m going to say this is possibly a wicked platform to learn languages! And very nice game! The audio compliments the action on screen! :)

Post your old logo! :D

The font goes perfectly with the wolf aesthetic and colours. Smashed it!

I would almost like to suggest making the reds a little bolder - but I think it is really good as it is!

Cool entry!! These kind of games are usually rage-inducing type games... but this was pretty pleasant to play! I didn't feel frustrated at all :D !! I used two arms to grab a single point as it gives me much more momentum than the two separate grabs, though I think I'm probably missing a trick...

This is such an awesome take on the idea of scale! Good job! :D I had to vote 5 stars for style because a e s t h e t i c s .

Minor bug for yooou:
You are able to select desktop icons by clicking through any of the open windows.

Steps:

  1. Start game
  2. Open any in-game window i.e. Gems Display
  3. Hover mouse at top of screen where icons are
  4. Observe you can see icon highlighting occurring
  5. Left-click
  6. Observe you are able to click and open these icons

Extra notes:

  • Does not appear to affect the playability of the game
  • Worst situation that can occur from a look is the issue can stop the game's music (if you are in a game that is playing music and then open the Gems Display window and close it again you will lose music)

(also minor issue: the settings UI will lose textures when reaching a visual changing event- will say no more because spoilers..!)

Time Entry: 2:12 >:D

Thank you all for playing! Post your fastest times below :D

Time Entry: 2:19! >:D

EDIT: TIME ENTRY: 2:12 \o/

Thank you all for playing! Post your fastest times below :D

:D ! Nicely done :) :)  Best of luck with the jam!

Hi! This is a really cool idea! :D Nice and simple - I got what to do pretty much immediately. Shocking how hard it was to think about the size of A5 paper..! 👏

Hi! Very cool game! I was super stressed - but in a good way :D I love it when games tell me to drink more coffee :) Props to you because this feels like quite a nice unique idea!

Quick bug to submit:
If you pick up subsequent letters you will cause the letter model to become stuck in hand. Additionally you no longer need to throw each letter out of the window as you only need to throw the last collected one (however, I feel like this might be as intended, i.e. you're throwing a full stack of letters rather than an individual letter?)

Steps:

  1. Start game
  2. Continue gameplay until letters start to arrive - wait until there are at least 2 letters
  3. Collect the first letter - observe you are able to collect it as expected
  4. Collect the second letter - observe you have now collected both letters
  5. Throw held letter(s) out of the window
  6. Observe issue: letter model is now stuck in your hand

Extra notes:

  • This issue does not prevent you from playing the game (it might be possibly a little exploitative as you can deal with all letters at once - however unsure if this is intended as I don't think I could do it without using this)
  • I really need a coffee after this one, thanks !

Nicely done - really cool game ! : D Found it on https://www.stuff.tv/features/best-free-browser-games/

Bug report:

You can become blocked in the start of the game by moving your starting chicken behind the text bubble to the right of the screen after you have dropped an egg.

- Will block your save file (reloading does not fix this issue)

Steps:

1. Start new game

2. Progress to tutorial stage where you have fed your chicken

3. When the chicken is broody let the egg be dropped into the floor

4. When the text bubble appears saying to try again: pick up the chicken and move it to the nest (under the text bubble)

5. Observe issue: you are unable to pick up the chicken again as the text bubble obscures it. You are therefore blocked from continuing.

Super charming presentation 🥰🥰

I didn't have a review on here but I'm going to say it: I played this game and for a first ever game... this is awesome quality.

I don't think horror is a particularly easy genre to attempt as a first game, either. You are required to manage your player's mood as well as the usual expectations. The mood was tense.

Visually the lighting was dramatic. My favourite room to display this was the TV room as pictured; it was both well lit on specific things required to know (i.e. the chair in the middle of the room, to make sure not to bump into it) but also concealing and mysterious.

Wicked first game in my opinion! Grats to ant801.

Absolutely baller - such an improvement from last time, gentlemen!

MINOR SPOILERS MAY BE PRESENT IN THIS REVIEW- CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

Art

I'm not a fan of pixel art but this was done really bloody well. It works. My first few seconds threw me a bit because I held "Up" when moving and then it just looked like my ghost's face disappeared. That did freak me out for a minor second. Did not notice any misaligned tiles or anything of that nature.

Audio

There was no backing track but that is most definitely not important. Heck, the silence in some situations kinda helps bring it home that it's night-time (maybe?). The choice of SFX were good - they all seemed very fitting. Might be worth having a "start" sound that gradually climbs for the very first time- wasn't sure how high the volume was gonna be and the very first DING when collecting the key (we'll call it a key) was pretty loud. Not that it's your fault- that's definitely mine, but a gradual climb to that would give my brain a half-second warning that my ear-phones are pretty bloody loud.

Gameplay

A minor learning curve with the light absorption but was very easily learnt. Cool twist on being a ghost. Maybe even accurate. It was very easy to understand what was going on with the text being shown on the screen. Excellent touch that on dying (a m I a l i v e ?) and re-showing the text again, just in-case you missed it. I felt the speed of that first room was very slow but the more confined spaces made that speed feel justified.

Story

I see you went to put a story in! It's simple and I understood every bit of it. Except for the part where the President gets overthrown. And the eyepatch. JUST KIDDING! Easy to understand what was going on. Given time I'm sure you'd have expanded on it further. Only thing I can suggest is throwing some more flavour in your little guy- with the limited time we had with him we could have learnt so much more about him... And damn those air-breathers, man.

Suggestions

Only little thing I could suggest was, time permitting, challenging the player to find a secret which isn't the main objective- an easter egg, if you will. I saw those corridors and was tempted to walk down then just in case one of yous slipped something in. I didn't. But I'm now ridiculously curious to check. A small effect you could leave in the description is "btw, we hid an easter egg- good luck finding it".  For us perusing the game it'd give a cheeky extra thing to put a little extra effort into completing the game, and then some.

Closing

I'm well impressed. You guys are bombing it. Good luck!

I love the minimalistic style.. 5 stars for not handholding me through the learning curve either!
