One of the things that helped was your background design. I realised that if I stopped in the middle of the darker squares I could "easily" squeeze in between spikes and not die. If one day you want to make a hell mode, make your background uniform XD Else, it was very good design on your part to help the player with such a simple thing (planned or not) :)

It was not my idea to make it spooky and/or chaotic. But I admit that with more skills I would love to revisit this with intent.

For the lights at start and finish (also the slight change in color for the external walls), it's because I have zero spatial awareness and the size of the maze made it easy to get lost faster and way less fun to explore.

Thank you for your comment! :D

The art was really cute and the game was fun, even though my skills in platformers are terrible... I still enjoyed it. I'm pretty sad that there was no music or sounds, but very grateful that there were no deaths counter... I think I would have cried seeing that number, but it might have been a funny addition XD

(1 edit)

...926 seconds... can I win the  "worst player of this game" prize? Man, my skills in platformers are abysmal XD
My obsessive self liked it though, enough for completing it rather than just give up... I think I spent about 100 seconds in the place where there is that one row of spike to drop-down in, then another 400 from last checkpoint to the end...

I'm a bit sad that there were no other ambient sound than that buzzing...machine? wind? But the game and art were really cute. The key binding felt a little bit weird and unnatural, but once I got used to it, the little bee was enjoyable to control.

The robot reminded me of Iron Giant :3
But, wow, it's beautiful :O I really liked everything in it, except the fact that it was so short. I hope you might keep working on it, I'm curious as to what happened to Little Iron :)

Your placement of them made for a nice environment :D
It was slightly immersion breaking to be able to pass through most things, but the rest made it feel like a "real" autumn forest. I really liked your sky box, the satisfyingly crunchy sounds of footsteps and the relaxing music. :)

It's a bit disappointing that you can't rake the leaves on command and from whichever angle you like, but it was a nice and enjoyable game with very cute pixel art :D

Little typo at the game fair (the "You acn do better" screen)
The pixel art was sooooo cute :3 I really love the style and am really glad you managed to finish this one :D I really liked it and it was really cozy.

After a few upgrades there seemed to be a movement bug where shooting and jumping just kind of pulled you back to where you jumped from? But overall it was a fun little game, I had fun with it and enjoyed the art and music :D

I'm also one of those where the game was lagging, but I actually kind of liked it? It was satisfying to see those pumpkin pieces fall in slow-motion :D
I found it sad that the nice music stopped playing after a while and never made another appearance until I used the escape key to go back to the menu :/
Else it was a fun gam

Not exactly cozy and the sounds makes it slightly aggressing, but I really like the simple, yet clear, goal. I love the pixel art too, makes it very arcade, I can clearly see it in one of those boxes :)

Thanks for the comment :)
Yeah, I realize that the camera controls might have been a little too excited and I think it's entirely my fault, I like it when my mouse goes zipping around the screen at crazy speed. Objectively, now that I get comments like these, I realize I should be more careful with it or allow players to change it to something they like. I'll keep it in mind for the next game and be more careful :)

Thanks for the comment :)
I'll keep it in mind to find a way to make better camera controls next time.

I agree that visually it could have been better and that I wasn't able to properly display the theme. The idea was that when I was young, one of the activities I enjoyed was a maze done in the parking lot of a pharmacy with bales of hay near Halloween time... It was a cozy time not too spooky for a chicken like me XD
I'll keep it in mind to study ways to make better graphics for the next game, thanks for the input :)
