Not exactly cozy and the sounds makes it slightly aggressing, but I really like the simple, yet clear, goal. I love the pixel art too, makes it very arcade, I can clearly see it in one of those boxes :)
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, the sound is a bit overbearing. In later iterations I want to take away the projectile sounds of the crow knights as that is the biggest sound offender. I wanted to put out a cozy feeling in the sense that even though you're fighting a horde of enemies, the stakes really aren't very high; it's just the changing of the seasons. I think with cozier background art and a different pacing for enemy spawning, I might be able to pull that off.
We like the wing flying very much! Found it pretty hard to survive on higher levels. The sound was a bit too aggressive. Overall a nice retro game!
Damn its pretty addictive
Thanks bud, that's a pretty high compliment for what I'm going for

Love the retro style!
Love the retro feel! Wonderful stuff! - Mato
Yeah, flying feah knight! Visually and gameplay very cool, you did a great job on it!
Its a really lovely game, but doesnt follow the theme and isnt cozy. Still love this game but didnt know the goal, exept if it is to make high scores.
Check my game down here below.
Thanks for the input. I was hoping to put in some cozier pixel art for the background, but unfortunately couldn't get the look during the time constraints. And yeah, the goal is entirely just to make high scores, lol. This was my attempt to emulate early 80's American arcade games where score was all that mattered in the end.
I really like the art style, but the sound is a bit annoying like everyone complaining. keep update it and it will be a good game :)
really, as much as some people are upset over the SFX, there was a charm to it; even on a sound level, it reminded me of a lot of American arcade games from the 80s or so. There was a real Joust-like vibe to so much of it, yknow? The way they stacked at the end, with the massive enemy avalanche, was... really funny, but also the only point where the sound design got a bit rough.
Overall, I really enjoyed it! The idea of a knight of Autumn literally fighting off Winter, and the obvious inevitability of that, is honestly super charming.
When it comes to an arcade game like this, character and item collision, mechanics, and sound design are crucial, and while I had some issues with how the first and third of those elements were handled, I would love to see this idea expanded a bit, somehow.
Thanks, it sounds like you really got the vibe I was going for! I was absolutely going for Joust feel so I'm glad that came off for you. I wish I could do a quick edit after I submitted, and removed that dang sound the crows make. Thanks for all your kind words, I'd like to expand this game into a more robust arcade game in the future.

Fun game but the sound design and difficulty scale need some work!
At the start I though the SFX were a bit too much - I had no idea what was coming and my eardrums hate you now. Fun game though.
You're definitely not the only one to make that note. In later versions I'll definitely take away the sound made when the crow riders drop their projectiles. Glad you enjoyed the gameplay, and I hope your eardrums will recover soon!
Fun to play and really gives you that retro feeling.
Fun arcade game, with a good sense of progression. Perhaps tune down a little bit the sound effects. Great job!
Yes, I think you're definitely right about the sound. Thanks for playing. Also, I think you have great taste in naming your game! I will have to give it a shot when I have some time tonight!
Felt really retro and cool, well done, with further iterations I think this could actually be one of those indie games that a lot of people talk about.
Wow, I really appreciate it, considering how polished yall's game is!
Very fun! The sound starts to get a little overwhelming once you get to level 3 though. Nice job!
Nice game, a little difficult but still fun!
Fun arcade game!
Cool concept! Keep going!
