Hey! I'm glad you liked the game. I've added the P8 file to the downloads section. The code is probably a huge mess though :D

Glad you liked the concept. And yes, definitely could use some extra work post jam.

Nokia SuperHot? Yes please! Wouldn't mind getting a few more levels of this :)

Simple but addictive and very well done. Great job in terms of animation, sound, etc. given the limitations

Glad you liked the concept. Sorry about the "music" xD.

I'm glad you liked the idea :D

I've have been able to reproduce both issues & they have an easy solution, thanks for reporting!

Thanks for playing and making a video!

Nice! Very solid combat for a LD entry

Super cute game, I really like the art. If you don't mind me saying I think the camera could improve by not following the player 1:1 & and adding things like coyote time and jump buffering would improve the game feel.
P.S. I loved that walking tower of acorns xD

Hi,

I tried the game and had no problems with the controls. I'm on Ubuntu + Firefox. With that out of the way, I would say it took me several tries to 'get the game'. It was unclear to me how to control the game. This is in part due to the long time that it takes between pointing and the actual shoot. To me it feels unresponsive and leads me to click again, canceling the previous command and starting again the whole process. Also I would like to point that the action of taking a hostage is a bit unclear, I didn't get it with the icon you've used. And I don't know if it's meant to be like that but once I got a hostage I couldn't fire to someone behind me and I had to release the hostage to be able to shoot and it feels quite counterintuitive.

With this said I think it's a cool idea and with some refinement of the controls and the responsiveness of the character you might be up to something cool. I hope this helps :)

Wow, you are killing it!

Thanks for playing and the video! Really cool seeing you play :D

Wow! Thank you for playing & making a video :) I hope you had a fun time with the game

Hi Zakaria,

I recently released a new game: The Kolarian Trials. It's a top down boss rush. It's available to play for free as a windows download or directly from the browser. Let me know if you have a chance to give it a try. All feedback is appreciated :D

The Kolarian Trials is a fast paced top down boss-rush. Fight in small arenas against a variety of enemies with one of the two available guns: the powerful Shotgun and the high-rate Scattergun. Use the dash move to avoid  the bullets while you keep an eye on the clock and try to make it to the top of the online leaderboard.

The game is available as a download (Windows) and to play in browser: https://francisco-caal.itch.io/the-kolarian-trails

The game allows you to customize your challenge with a few options including player and enemy damage % and time limit. The customization is tied to a score multiplier.  A full run takes no more than 5 or 6 minutes to complete but the game has been built with the idea of been played several times increasing the challenge and topping your scores.

For those interested in development details:

The game has been developed in Game Maker Studio 2. The art has been done (mostly) in Pixaki with an iPad Pro, from where I've exported the spritesheets to later make some corrections and export as image sequences in Aseprite.  For the sfx I have used free CC0 sounds that I've later edited, cut and modified in Audacity.

I've made the game over the last 6 months (more or less) in my free time. It's been a bit of an intermittent development as I've gone through periods of sometimes even up to several weeks without time to put into it. It's been a cool project to work on and though it's a tiny little game I'm pretty happy with the results.

I hope you give it a chance and have a good time with it :)

Thank you for playing, I'm glad you liked it!

Nice! The controls feel pretty good but I feel that the spikes collision masks are a bit punishing, making them a bit smaller would help. Also I would consider adding "coyote time", it usually helps a lot with game feel.

Yup, there's a bug that I'm waiting for the end of the ratings to patch. Thanks for playing!

Thanks!

Thank you!

Yes, thanks. I managed to replicate the bug and fix it. I will upload the patch once the ratings are over.

I like it! It reminds me a little bit of snakebird, and that always a good thing. Wouldn't mind playing another few levels...

There's a good idea for a game in here

Hey, you mean it was it buggy and non-responsive? Is it on level 6? where you start in a small room that you have to slide out from?

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you!! Rage quitting is good 😂

Thank for playing! I agree, the game benefits from going at 60fps and I know that 15 wasn't a requirement but I wanted to see if I could make it work. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you! Those are very kind words :) I have been thinking exactly the same thing, pulling the camera back so you can do this style of platforming with a more static camera.

Great work! The flipside concept is really well done and I really like how you've managed to have to very different and distinct environments within the tech limitations of the jam. Really cool

I think the physics could be tweaked a little to make it more enjoyable because it feels a bit slow in the changes of gravity and the control overall. I'm really bad, 27 my best record xD But it's fun!

Thanks for playing! The moving wall is a tricky level ands it only gets tougher after that one 😂

Good idea but I found it a bit difficult to read due to the dithering of the light

The Mighty Purrito Adventure is a little platformer starring the sprite counterparts of Maple&Ghibli. my two real life cats. The game has 3 levels + a boss fight. Additionally each level has 3 hidden yarn balls that you must collect to do a 'full run' of the game.

I developed the game on my spare time over the past few months inspired by this post: https://medium.com/@MattThorson/celeste-and-towerfall-physics-d24bd2ae0fc5 and this twitter thread: https://twitter.com/MattThorson/status/1238338574220546049, both by Matt Thorson, co-creator of Celeste and Towerfall.

The game is developed in Game Maker Studio 2 and most of the art has been create in an iPad Pro with Pixaki.

The game is available for Windows PC and can be download here: https://francisco-caal.itch.io/the-mighty-purrito-adventure

Thanks for playing!
