Ah gotcha. Pretty cool game, lots of flexibility for interesting environmental interaction with the physics system. The attack combinations are interesting but don't seem to mesh too well together, or at least lacks something to bring it to Noita level of fun and interesting combinations.  Maybe tweak the world map a bit, not sure in which direction but feels like it could be more engaging somehow.

A few issues I found. Sometimes the hanging chains would block enemies in the back completely, making it almost impossible to kill them...maybe make the chains die in 1 hit?. Bullets shot under the feet of enemies in water are OP as they tick damage pretty fast and last a few seconds at least. Would be nice of shooting was on mouse release so you can time it better.

Overall great job! I could see this fleshed out into a full Steam release at an indie price point.

Looks cool, couldn't get far due to a bug though? After aiming - how do I shoot?

Hey Japu! Thanks for trying it out, sorry it didn't run for you. We are hoping to add graphic settings in a future update, but sadly didn't get them in for the jam :(

Thank you for playing! And also for your feedback - I agree the map was too large for this version of the game.

Thank you for checking it out! Should have graphics settings added in a future update.

Great game and excellent use of the ortho camera! Each level thoughtfully adds something new to think about, and the last two puzzles are quite challenging! Good job!

Great idea and execution! A lot of fun as well, would keep playing this as it develops! Also neat trick with the sprite facing fence posts :p

I really love that art style, and all the prop details really add to it! Was missing some music (at least couldn't hear any) and ran into one bug when running out of banana power while smashing a door (had to restart the client). Also got a network popup when running, I think that's from packaging a develop build instead of shipping build.

Really great job! Getting such a detailed map built with gameplay elements in this timeframe is very impressive!

Loved it, from the music and art to the idea and execution! One thing I had trouble with was my camera turn speed was really slow. Otherwise, fantastic job!

Hey, thanks for giving it a try! Sadly did not have time to add resolution settings, I have an ultra wide as well and had to resize the game to a 2K resolution myself to get the best experience. Hope to update in the future and make it more playable!

Thanks for playing, and glad you liked the art style! Hope I get to see your godgame some time when it's ready!

Thank you for playing! I ran out of time putting in graphics settings into the options menu, definitely something to add in future update. Also I agree the map is big for what is available in the jam version. Thanks for the feedback :)

Thank you :)

Hey, cool game! I liked the upgrade options and nice details in the animations. The attacks felt pretty weak compared to just kiting the mobs and collecting flies, which is what I did up to round 12 before getting caught on an edge and getting wiped :p Good job!

Great experience, well done! Very nice polish on the rider animations, and of course the artwork is beautifully done :)

Thanks for playing!!

Hey, good job! The dithered sword trails looked great, and overall good visuals throughout. Tough genre to attempt in a game jam format, but you managed to create a cool prototype here!

Well polished defense game with replayability! Had fun trying a few different strategies to see how far I could get. Great job!

This was a lot of fun haha, good combination of simple to learn but also pretty challenging. Definitely max points for originality, great work! One technical thing - there seemed to be some distracting visual artifacts when turning the camera coming from I think the lights on the railings. Wasn't too bad though.

Hey, great to see another UE5 game in the mix :) I played through it and defeated the great evil, good job! The golem follow / command worked great, as did the body possession. Building up from this and adding more bodies with unique combat, or even puzzle mechanics, would make it even better!

Hey! Good job making a game :) I really liked the blob animations, and the game worked fine on my PC! I ended up losing to the snail guys charging me haha, but it was easy to pick up and play. Question - what was the purpose of being able to click to move your blob? Seemed like I could only attack with them near me.

Only other thing is I was missing some sound effects! But other than that, good job!

Hey, good work! Game worked fine on my PC and I played through (i think) all the available waves. It got a bit too easy and I eventually let myself lose since I wasn't sure if there was an end to the game or not. But overall, great job making a game!! Oh one thing - I wish I didn't have to hold down right-click to aim!

Really enjoyed this one! Great idea and execution - the dynamic music is a fantastic detail! Plenty of different upgrades, and always felt nervous getting out of my tank to collect the gears haha. Great work, really nailed it!

Hey, like the idea! I did find it too difficult (couldn't make it past wave 1 haha) but good work! Maybe a bigger arena would help, where I'd have more time to swap between placing units and controlling them.

Love it! The audio cues and smaller details really sell it, great work!

Thank you! Yes Black & White was a fantastic series, and we wanted to do our best to recreate some of that experience for players.

Thank you so much, we're glad you liked it :) The team definitely put a lot of work into this!

I think it was a well executed idea, not much to suggest there. On the technical side, I tried resizing the game window up to read the text better but it got a bit blurry when I did that, so that would be nice if it scaled up and was easier to read.

Great job, didn't get through all the levels but the ones I did play were really well designed! (Also the SFX felt good and the colors + shapes design worked well)

A few thoughts as I played:
- Could use a custom aim cursor (was easy to lose the default mouse cursor on the light background)
- Would have preferred being able to shoot 180degrees instead of needing to turn left/right first

Nice work, like the idea! The character falls really fast (and I suck at platformers) so I died a lot haha but it was fun :)

Great credits screen! Nice set of game modes as well :)

Nice! I like the parallax scrolling background. The switches could use some debounce so they don't get toggled repeatedly by accident :p

Hello!

Cosmic Chicken is my first game release, made in unity3d. I switched from GameMaker earlier this year, and decided to make a small game within the span of 8 weeks to help me learn unity. The result is Cosmic Chicken, which combines my love for music, arcade style games, and VR into one adrenaline filled experience! The goal of the game is to simply avoid all obstacles, collect coins for bonus score, and survive until the end of the song! Music is the central theme in the game, so I tied all the visuals directly to it through some audio-reactive shaders which react in real-time to the music - creating some pretty cool effects!

I hope you all enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it. Would also love any feedback on the game, and since I'm still a bit of a unity novice - any pointers you experts out there can give would be very much appreciated as well!
