Loved the idea and the illustrations. My only issue is control-wise; rather than find the right position in a blank screen, I'd have left some kind of markers in the background to suggest proper position, and also let the user rotate the objects themselves in the perfect (or very close to perfect) orientation. Talking about the pencils level, for example, since I didn't see any particular order nor I knew how far apart they had to be. But really cool idea nonetheless!
Wow, best "let's remove your controls" game I've found this far. Also how you transformed a simple platformer into a puzzle game. I loved the first puzzle with the "no control-platforms" area, how it made you consider each movement. Also, the idea to solve the last puzzle was really good too! Really good job, presentation too!
My only issue was that, in terms of the platforming aspect, it was a bit hard to do the jumps, since you get stuck in corners (or fall from corners) many times. But with a bit of tweaks and some coyote times you're golden! I'd love to see this concept with many other keys and twist your player's mind even further hahaha
Great job!
I have seen many games that just randomize input but they tend to be more annoying than fun. Yours is fun, because the arrow changing all the time makes you move constantly. You want to be close to the enemy because that allows you to be on their right side quickly in order to shoot them, but that's also risky because you have less reaction time if they shoot. Really good implementation of such a simple concept ;)
Also, pretty minimalistic but completely functional, snappy and polished. Loved the particle effects to signal destroyed enemies, good job!
Thank you! Yeah, all the feedback we got said that the time constraint was too stressful. We're definitely considering changing the game to a turn-based system (although the puzzles would change then). About the restart button, it should let you restart at any time, it must be a bug (we were in a serious rush by the end of the second day and couldn't test everything properly, sorry about that).
Very cool concept! Playing with any other letter to right-move was hard! It was a shame you didn't really need to go to the left, so that made things easier. Maybe a vertical level where you need to hop across platforms in a zig-zag pattern would have made you play carefully. That'd be interesting. Also, the camera was too close, made it difficult to see the spikes in time.
Loved how fast and snappy it is. I was thinking you had made so many different levels, and then I read you did procedural generation xD Still, making the system to create feasible levels must have been tough under the time-limit. Funny how you used the out of control theme both for theme (contagion) and controls (ice movement). The only thing is it was a bit repetitive and easy, but that's understandable. Good job!
