An easy to understand mechanic! I enjoyed the  pace of difficulty going up from the jelly fish speeding up and there being more bullets on screen. Felt there could of been more work put into the music and SFXs for the game. Other than that, great game. My highest score was 32.

I enjoyed playing this game! It has a lot of replayability from the many type of weapons you can choose from. My favourite weapon you can add to the mothership is the Rotator. Enjoyed adding multiple rotators and levelling it up.

I felt the feedback on the enemies death could of been better? I was getting confused if the bird was dead of alive which resulted me losing health. This mainly happened later in the game if it was busy. I personally found the 2nd stage a bit too difficult.

Other than that, it is a great game!

The dynamic challenge from the constantly changing arena mechanic is very good.  I do think the game gets a bit easier just from the bouncing bullets getting trapped in the walls?

Overall I enjoyed it a ton!

The life ammo mechanic is fun and very unique.  I had so many close calls when playing this game which I liked.

What an amazing and unique game mechanic!

Loved the player's game feel and feedback. Enjoyed the variety in weapon types too.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah I agree,  some of the click mechanics feel a bit off. I may do some light fixes where possible in the future.

The Read Me file in the Recycle Bin was more of a joke placed there since no one really reads that text file usually.  Since it was in the Recycle Bin you can not read it in there and there is no way to restore files in the game. It is unrelated.

I have found other creators to join the team. Thanks to everyone for sharing your work. :)

Hey, I am Squidmaker, a creative game designer/developer.

I have been wanting to enter this jam since last year but was too busy at the time.  😞

I have not created a main bullet hell game before but always had an interest in the shoot em up games. Here are two shmup game projects I have created before:

https://squidmaker.itch.io/shooter-future

https://squidmaker.itch.io/shump-dungeon

Also check out my other games found on my itch page too. ✨

So, I am currently looking for others to form a team for the Bullet Hell Jam 2022. 🚀

Ideally I would like to find:

- A Music Composer 🎵

- A Sound Designer 🔊

- A 2D Artists (Asset Creation) 🎨

- A 2D Character Artists 🙇‍♂️

- *Maybe an 2D animator? 📽️

- *Maybe another gameplay programmer? 🖥️

The game's early theme/style idea will be based on the 2000s cartoons such as Powerpuff Girls and Panty & Stocking.

If you are interested, message me on Discord. My Tag is PixelSquid#3565

Thanks. 💖

I am interested! Do you have Discord?

Hi. I am Squidmaker a Unity game developer. I enjoy designing and making a variety of  games. You can find my games on my Itch page here: https://squidmaker.itch.io/

I am interested in the NaNoRenO Jam for the challenge to make a unique visual novel. My aim is to create a visual novel with some additional 'gameplay' features. Kind of like the Danganronpa case trials.

I have a lot of experience from other game jams before such as Global Game Jam and Spring 2D Jam.

While I have a few early ideas, I am pretty open on the direction this project can take. From the setting, characters, art, etc.

I am looking for others to join my team either as:

- A Writer 📝

- An Artist 🎨

- A Musician or Audio Person 🎵

If anyone is interested feel free to message me on Discord.

Thanks for reading. ✨

Thanks and seeing some form of speed runs would be very cool.

Thanks!

Thank you.

Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback

And thanks for hosting this cool jam. :)

Love the resource management in this game. Here is my planets in Galactico.

Thank you for all of the constructive feedback.

There is already plans for doing an update in the future. So stay tuned for that!

I liked the concept for this game. I think it just needs a bit more work on some of the mechanics.

I found growing the planets slightly tricky to do but can be fixed if you made the hitbox/area bigger for both the shovel and the watering can.

Found the player's voice funny when you are doing something correct or wrong in the game.

For feedback, I was confused on why there was a health value in this game? It is an interesting concept that your towers can damage you but it did not affect the game at all?

The risk vs reward in this game is great. I could either just keep on getting more points or harvest the sunflower to increase my point multiplier but then I have to start with only 2 hits again.  Simple by yet it is still a fun game.

Enjoyed the art for this game. I think the game gives some character from the art style and the player/bug designs. The bug design reminds me of those Magic Wiggler toys you can get if that was intentional or not.

For improvements, maybe add more enemy variety? This could be done by just changing the the  enemies and give them different attributes. Maybe like faster worms or stronger worms.

This game needs more positive comments and ratings!

I enjoyed the upgrading system and liked that you can only use one of the ability forms if you eat the specific insect. For improvements, maybe a wave system might be useful. Each wave could introduce new insect, etc.

I enjoyed going into different forests to collect mushrooms to gain points.

I am slightly confused on how the growing mushrooms works. Overall I liked the concept.

Like the concept of the Worm following your mouse!

More feedback on when you lose would be good to see. Overall it was fun.

I really liked how intense the game is from the gameplay and feedback you added.

Maybe add a indication on when the plant is grown? Was unsure where to go after the plant was grown in the first level.

I had found this unique game idea very fun to play. This has given me inspiration to try and work on a game idea which has a similar concept for gameplay again in the future.

For feedback, I feel there should be a slight delay on the shaver when going onto the next sheep. I accidentally cut the sheep before reading what the goal was.

This concept is very interesting. I do think giving more clear instruction on how different places affects the unit's type either if it is in the sky or on the tree.

Overall I liked it.

Enjoyed the loop for this game.

I do think some of the inputs could be changed such as the escape button. I kept on pressing the escape to try to get out of the different menus but pressing it puts me back into the menu. Just something small to look into.

The visual and audio presentation for this game is great.

Found the gameplay interesting but found it was getting slightly repetitive since there was not a lot of gameplay variety. Maybe different types of frog  could spice up the gameplay?

This game is very chill and feels good just from placing different plants and animals to grow in the area. I feel the rounds are slightly too long but can see the game 's focus is more to grow the island.

Here is my island I created:

Really found the unlocking your usual controls very interesting.

I found the thorn hitboxes maybe a bit too big in some areas?

Great game overall.

Thanks! That was intentional so that player can take breaks if the worm is too fast on later levels.

However that is a bug that the saw doesn't move up if the player stops via the wall. Planning to fix that and some other things in the future. Thanks for the feedback!

You still made a quality game in a limited amount of time for a game jam. Be proud with that!

Enjoyed this game! The controls where nice to use for turning and going forwards with the caterpillar. Found the different bug types good for level hazards. The bees were scary on level 3.

I liked the fact how we both had similar ideas for our games from taking inspiration from Snake. It is interesting the different approaches we done to make these games.

Was very unsure how to play this game.

There was no indication for controls inside the game or on the game's page.

However, I found the art for this game excellent.

The game is pretty and relaxing.

While there is not a lot of gameplay, the quality for making this game's aesthetic is 10/10.

I do like the concept of mechanics for this game. I also found the different path directions a good touch too.

For improvements, I think more feedback when planting trees and attacking might be good for this game. It would make the player understand what is happening while playing the game.

This is a relaxing game from its visuals and audio. For gameplay I really wished you could of plant multiplayer flowers at the same time. Especially if there is a timer ticking down.

Liked the gameplay loop for this one. I ended up making over $30 in game. It is a chill game.
