Thanks!   Yeah I tried to capture some of that nostalgia from the original PoP all the way to the newer ones   :)

That was a lot of fun.  One suggestion - when dying and restarting, the level should have a consistent state.  Seemed like it just continued in same state it was when I died.

Thanks for this.  Works great.  Game I made based on these assets: https://svermeulen.itch.io/persian-prince-and-the-time-vortex

Satisfying effect on the splits, but I failed to figure out what to do.  I tried to follow the tooltips but they seemed to also be misleading (which may be the point?)

Took me awhile to figure out how to feed the cake to the frogs.  My cursor was hidden and I am assuming the cursor needed to be on the frog

Thanks!  Yeah I spent too much time making the visuals nice, and making the time mechanics functional that I didn't leave myself hardly any time for tuning, and the result is extremely punishing.  Sorry about those double spikes, those are indeed brutal. I should definitely have been less ambitious with visuals and mechanics and instead created more content and then made the skill progression much slower.

Thanks for playing!

I enjoyed this!  I really wanted to beat it but couldn't figure out how to beat the dragon.  I tried hitting the body a few times but then it seemed to want me to stand in front of him (there was an indicator there), then it said I didn't surive the night when I did.

I appreciated all the hints when it was clear I didn't understand the controls.  One thing that would have helped is an on screen inventory so I could see what items I actually succeeded in getting

Thanks for playing!  Yeah it definitely should be.  I wish I had more time to add more content and tune it better.  I am hoping that the rewind mechanic makes it a bit less punishing since you at least don't have to re-do any progress before whatever the current spike trap is.

Nice.  Loved the sound effect change when the creature sees you.  I had a problem where my mouse cursor left the window and I couldn't look around properly anymore so had to restart.

Maybe it's because I don't play enough similar games to this but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what most of the choices I was making did.   With some hints though (eg. tooltips on everything) I think this could made into something really cool.

Oh yeah I like that idea!  That would solve the problem that happens if you play very badly during your first run, and have to intentionally miss platforms etc. when tracking your shadow during second run.  Also would solve the problem where there is an incentive during your first run to go slow so that your second run where you need to track your shadow is easier (or just always go back in time to never do anything twice during first run).  You could explain this new approach as just part of the demon's spell - that user needs to mimic the demon.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Lol yes, it's way too difficult.  It might help to watch the gameplay video I posted on the itch page to see how I do it.  The truth is that I spent the entire jam creating all the implementation details like reversing time and left myself only hours to create actual level content and do any tuning.  Thanks for playing though, I really enjoy hearing this feedback!

Yeah I really screwed up by making it web only in the submission.  It worked on my machine so for some reason I didn't think to do it.  As soon as the first person mentioned it didn't work for them on web, I posted the windows version (https://svermeulen.itch.io/persian-prince-chronicles-of-the-time-vortex-windows) but too late for the official submission.  I'm still hoping to at least get some feedback though so thanks for playing!

Great job.  I think this is my favorite entry so far.   Simple but polished and an impressive amount of content.

Awesome job.  Was fun.  Very nice vibe to it too

That effect of things flipping looks and feels super good!   Enjoyed this.  Only issue was I once got stuck inside a platform

Are you using chrome?  It requires webgpu enabled.  If your browser doesn't work with WebGPU then please use windows version here: https://svermeulen.itch.io/persian-prince-chronicles-of-the-time-vortex-windows

Thank you!   It's very gratifying to hear that someone enjoyed this little experimental game of mine  :)
