I enjoy the crazy time travel mechanics of course :)

Man what an experience it reminded me of the days i used to sit down in front of an old pc in a public library, I used to open up Prince of Persia and play for a long time, and man how fun it was, this takes it even further adding some more mechanics and making it even more entertaining and difficult, great stuff!
Thanks! Yeah I tried to capture some of that nostalgia from the original PoP all the way to the newer ones :)
As a PoP fan this game spoke to me
This is an interesting concept, and the visuals were undeniably very good. Well done!
Here's some things that detracted the overall experience for me:
- The reverse time button wasfrustratingly unresponsive, making it difficult to halt properly and often resulting in unintentional rollbacks beyond what I intended. This was very annoying! xD
- The spike collisions felt very unfair. Frequently, my character would be impaled mid-air, appearing to be floating. This issue was particularly evident during the double spike (celing and floor), where after about 80 attempts, I had to quit.
Thanks! Yeah I spent too much time making the visuals nice, and making the time mechanics functional that I didn't leave myself hardly any time for tuning, and the result is extremely punishing. Sorry about those double spikes, those are indeed brutal. I should definitely have been less ambitious with visuals and mechanics and instead created more content and then made the skill progression much slower.
Thanks for playing!
Web version worked quite well for me.
Those spikes are quite hard to overcome with the physics this game uses. I wish the game to be more forgiving at times.
Thanks for playing! Yeah it definitely should be. I wish I had more time to add more content and tune it better. I am hoping that the rewind mechanic makes it a bit less punishing since you at least don't have to re-do any progress before whatever the current spike trap is.
Hey Your game looks great and has interesting mechanics! :).
I could not get past the part after time was reversed for the second time. Also i think a mechanic where you would have to copy moves of the bad guy instead of your could be cool.
Oh yeah I like that idea! That would solve the problem that happens if you play very badly during your first run, and have to intentionally miss platforms etc. when tracking your shadow during second run. Also would solve the problem where there is an incentive during your first run to go slow so that your second run where you need to track your shadow is easier (or just always go back in time to never do anything twice during first run). You could explain this new approach as just part of the demon's spell - that user needs to mimic the demon.
Thanks for playing and the feedback!
The game feels like being impaled on spikes over and over again, because that is exactly what happens. I can't really get far as the game requires crazy skill to repeat my unskilled thumbling around after demon sends me back, but the mechanics is interesting and it is quite cool you managed to implement it. I'll probably retry tomorrow when I'm less tired.
Lol yes, it's way too difficult. It might help to watch the gameplay video I posted on the itch page to see how I do it. The truth is that I spent the entire jam creating all the implementation details like reversing time and left myself only hours to create actual level content and do any tuning. Thanks for playing though, I really enjoy hearing this feedback!
Nice platformer game with great 3D models and a really cool time rewind effect, but with the amount of data involved with that, theres no chance this game can run on the web, you should have just submitted the windows version instead.
Yeah I really screwed up by making it web only in the submission. It worked on my machine so for some reason I didn't think to do it. As soon as the first person mentioned it didn't work for them on web, I posted the windows version (https://svermeulen.itch.io/persian-prince-chronicles-of-the-time-vortex-windows) but too late for the official submission. I'm still hoping to at least get some feedback though so thanks for playing!
