Great art and solid gameplay. Although, in practice I was too busy running away to make note of what effect each combination of runes had and whether I should move closer to the enemy before casting.

It took me a while to figure out how to get up through the pipe even with the onscreen instructions but once i did that was a very interesting and unique attack mechanic!

What a fun concept. It would be nice if restarting took you to the beginning of the fight with the mama chicken so I didn't have to walk back and chase the chick around every time

This is really good!

Sure thing! I increment the player's position by 1/nth of dodge speed every tick and add a copy of the player's sprite at that position, and subtract 20 alpha on all copies every tick.

Simple short and sweet. I like the aesthetic.

It took me a couple tries to get past that second attack, but I got it right eventually. I liked the frictionless restart and that it lets you walk to the other side of the boss to safely charge up your sword attack.

This is really cool! I think it would be nice if the endgame screen displayed how many coffees you consumed.

Sidenote, I had to play the browser version because the windows download wouldn't launch for me. I haven’t done any troubleshooting yet but I’m wondering if it’s caused by a colon in metadata.txt since I’ve seen that cause this exact behavior.

Great game, the art is nice and the puzzles are fun to solve without becoming frustrating.

Impressive! I think I found all the spell upgrades but there were two spots in the wall that had a ‘?’ that I never figured out what to do with.

Really smooth and satisfying gameplay. I like the enemies’ visual design.

Really good! The gameplay feels satisfying on its own and the timing is just right for the player to feel like they almost/barely made it, pulling them in for another round (or ten). The only thing I would suggest is adding a way to restart immediately from a gameover, instead of having to go back to the menu every time.

I used this to make a game! https://thegrimsqueaker.itch.io/doggame

Heartfelt and unique

It has the same issue for me on windows

FYI the windows build doesn't work. As far as we can tell it’s because of the colon in metadata.txt

But I figured out a workaround to run your game, and I’m glad I did because it’s good! I especially like the tone of the writing and the voice acting and the sound design in general. The final sequence was a bit of a struggle because I tried to run past enemies and performance would tank if even a few of them weren’t dealt with.

Great idea, simple and well-executed and fun.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ve added arrow keys.
There are different player mechanics, but they weren't added until a day or two ago so it depends on when you downloaded.

Let it be known I had the option not to use that attack animation and rejected it :P

Great game! Very addicting. I don’t often play these types of games but I made it to level 13 (after many deaths). Though some levels can feel pretty luck-based if the bones get placed near you or one of the objectives.

This was cool, although I also got stuck trying to figure out how to move diagonally and ended up downloading the mac version so I could look at the source code. (it’s Q and E for those wondering) It’s an interesting concept, I hope you keep working on this!

One thing, it doesn’t say you can capture pieces from the side, but I was able to. I'm not sure if that's a bug because I can’t figure out how I could win without doing that.
