I found the sapphire, 10/10 would play again. Also you guys said something about a red square? Idk what you are talking about...

Fun experience, although a bit overwhelming!

I assume the game loads a new scene when entering and exiting a house, making that a bit laggy.

I've only played two routes (first I've become some unstoppable monster and then I was looked down upon haha), but this could become great with some polish (+1 on that flag marking 100% visited houses).

Hey Conor!

We went with the theme of having found a game dev's lost hard drive and now discovering the contents! It's more a puzzle game than any other genre, so feel free to utilize the Walkthrough if you get stuck!

Enjoy https://itch.io/jam/game-off-2024/rate/3087311 !

Heyho!
We've received some nice feedback regarding the gameplay, but are missing out on visual/audio feedback. If you have time, we'd be happy to let you feedback us!

Thanks! There is music, you may have not heard it, because the default volume for the sound is not at max ;)

Cool concept! Nice use for generative AI, even though my ears sometimes bleed when hearing AI sing xD. Visuals are okay, but the game is missing some quality of life. (Drag and Drop + slow ritual makes this take a very long time, I stopped after 2 new items and 30 tries) ;)

The core concept was definitely TBG inspired! Especially the quote "A key in one game opens the door in a completely different game" came up while brainstorming! I hope you come back to this, so you can disover all the secrets within Ryans Drive. (Feel free to take a look at the Walkthrough, if you get stuck on a puzzle ;) )

Thank you for sharing your feelings and feedback! We are so glad that we were able to make this entry for everyone to enjoy and share something personal, hopefully provoking thoughts alongside some fun!

Thank you for your kind words and time, we are VERY glad you could enjoy this at that level!

Thanks a lot! We really had a hard time thinking about what would make sense, but also be fun or interesting to look at! We're glad you could enjoy our demo and feel the love poured into it :D

Yeah it really is, we're glad you were able to enjoy it so much!

We werent planning on releasing this, but we might add some content (or readd content which we didnt include as it would only work partly, aswell as another working game, which we didnt include in the demo, because it didnt fit in the story). I can image a version of this with playthroughs taking multiple hours tho, so thanks for the suggestion and feedback :D

Thank you a lot for your kind words! The Beginners Guide was a big inspiration with quotes like "A key in one game opens a door in a completely different game".  Also it's kind of what the trailer promised it to be, but we enjoyed that narrative a lot aswell! While Stead made the art and dialogue and I made everything work, aswell as UI and audio, latter sadly didn't receive the amount of time that we needed in order to polish the other parts. :( We're still pretty proud, as this is our first project being this polished and not have bugs (atleast we dont know of any in the demo).

The game itself does not have a second ending as of now, but it would make sense to include at least some kind of secret. (You could theoretically open the C: Files, but the password is not seen anywhere in the game, that could count :D)

This is not just a simple game about secrets, but your task is easy to understand. You dig into the files of a lost hard drive, trying to understand what you've found, with a simple message conveying all the secrets lying within.

RIGHT??!

Thanks! I completely agree that the movement isn't fleshed out just yet!

Nice idea, I'm stuck where I'm supposed to use "[", because if I type (CTRL+ALT+8), it doesn't work :/ EDIT: Found it, it's "Ü" for open and "+" for closed bracket

Oh, dang :(

Haha, I knew someone would consider the reference! I did think of looking up the game for inspiration, but we actively chose not to and to think of original components! (There is only that much originality, when it gets to movement like this tho xD). The components should have added to this games lore with descriptions, we sadly didn't have the time to add a display for them!

Thanks! It is very important to us to provide a complete and rounded experience and I'm glad we could make it enjoyable! We are working on a more polished version, so feel free to check the game page once the submission period is over! ;)

I love that it's very smooth overall, aswell as the music and sounds. Very soothing!

I got 435 on my first try, is that good?

I think this could be quite enjoyable for some time, if polished. Sadly the replay button didn't work (for me) and I don't know the theme this is based on, but it feels fun!

Pretty cool comment!

Haha thanks a lot! We ran out of time when it came to level design, so we did some short segments to introduce each component!

Thank you! :D

Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback! Yeah, the tutorial didn't consider many edge cases, it works almost just alright if you only click what it says :D
WASD changes the behaviour of every component on either side (W for top, S for bottom), except for the fuel tank. Wheels brake, hat stops working and ofc jetpack and thruster active :D

Nice visuals, is there no sound or am I missing something? Also I didn't really understand what was going on, I sailed over with fruit, but the ant didn't take any? :( EDIT: Didn't realize it says what to bring)

Hat go weeee (it was supposed to play clown music)

Thanks! The hat keeps you from rotating away, which might look weird if rotated a lot, also the right jetpack should boost you to the left, but it doesn't, so that may be the weird behaviour!

I enjoy the physics and the fact that there are different pa

Okay hahahaha this is a lot of fun, well done!

I recommend rebinding the restart button, escape un-fullscreens the game in the WEB Version and then it restarts!

Hey, game feels clean, but what am I supposed to do? As I see no UI on Windows WEBGL, you could write a short tutorial in the description! I gobble Goblins and sometimes the room resets, does that mean I won? Because I hadn't eated ALL the goblins yet?

Love the game, especially the sound design! One small idea: Only play the "let go" sound, if you actually boost the player. I had a hard time figuring out, whether my inputs were translated to movement or not.

Cool game, liked the intro but damn, is this hard, any my fingers hurt 😭😭

Thanks a lot!

We enjoy being able to be creative in our playstyle in games, instead of being hard-wired to a specific playstyle, so I hope you enjoyed this as much as us!

"Close enough!" ahahahah

Hello fellow devs!
I wanted to upgrade my pc with a new (budget) GPU (rx 7600) yesterday, because my old one is REALLY old (rx580). Well, somehow, after replacing it and turning it back on, I didn't get any video signal, and after trying to fix it, it now doesn't even start the CPU or PSU 😭😭

I hope you have a great time, as I won't be able to participate in this jam, unless some god-sent samaritan gifts me a new pc or smth😭

Yeah, I tried countering that by adding boots in every area, which give you bonus AGI (move speed). Also there is a pair of secret boots on Hill. Climbton🤫
