I really appreciate all the feedback! I especially like the idea the idea of storing the move for a second to make it easier to do things right after landing, I think that would make the movements feel a lot better.

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Thanks for checking it out!

It's funny that you mentioned an indicator, I toyed around with that idea when I was first brainstorming the game design. A big inspiration was the SNES Battletoads game which has a level where you're driving full speed and indicators would pop up and you'd have to quickly react and dodge the obstacles. With the mechanics I wanted to implement here though it felt like it would turn into a "press the button on the screen" game without much of a challenge for the player.

I'm actually a big fan of the "painstakingly memorize the level" type of game. It's definitely not everyone's favorite and it's probably not an ideal format for a game jam where people aren't trying to spend TOO much time on a game. If I did want to build this game out and give a wider appeal I think a good move would be to add a lot of checkpoints and have shorter sections that the player has to try and figure out how to traverse.

I really appreciate your feedback and I really enjoyed your game! This is my first game jam (and my first game) and it's great seeing what everyone brings to the table. Safe to say I'll be doing more of these in the future!

Congrats on your first game jam submission! I enjoyed playing this game, I hope you make many more

This is awesome for your first game, good job getting it done in time!

Nailed the chaos theme. Very fun game, gameplay is super smooth. Great job!

I really the style of this game, the sprits and sounds are perfect. I tried my best to figure out how to make it over to that other area but I failed.

Man I thought this game was going to be about farming haha. I enjoyed it! I think you did a really good job with the level design.

Well executed simple mechanics always make for a great game. Loved the look of the game and had a lot of fun playing it. Good job! (PS: my high score was 44)

Really like the art style here, controls felt smooth. Good job!

Love the pixel art style. Unique mechanics too, I could see this being an arcade game with a joystick. Great job, I enjoyed it.

I love the visuals, very aesthetically pleasing

I love the aesthetic. Super fun arcade game! (Also our games have dangerously similar names)

I enjoyed the vibe of the game, it immediately reminded me of like a horror Goldeneye. I wish I could try and beat the game but unfortunately reloading doesn't seem to be working for me?

Congrats on your first game! I enjoyed playing it.

I love that this was a family project, very cool. The look and feel of the game is great, it feels very well made. When the only complaint people have is that there isn't more of the game, you know you did a good job. Congrats!

This game is why game jams exist. What a masterpiece.

Great game design and artwork, loved how many different dishes there were. I do wish there was a set goal for how many dishes you're trying to make and a timer for how long you have. Overall though, top-tier game, I had a lot of fun playing it.

I really enjoyed playing this, I was very surprised by how much you were able to get done in a week. If it ends up being a project that you build more upon I would definitely love to come back to it. Great job!

I definitely have a soft spot for retro style games but this might be my favorite game from this jam so far. I loved the graphics and the gameplay, I didn't stop playing until I beat it. Great job!

What a concept for a game! As someone who plays trumpet and enjoys games this was really at a surprising intersection of my interests. Great job, I really enjoyed it!
