Glad you liked it.
The title sequence will be completely different in the main game (more anime based)- it's only just been started, so I had to use something else for the demo. Plus, I needed to work out where to put it (originally it was a lot later), but I felt it worked better at the current place.
I have merged the OVN games into one, and it worked well (as far as I know), but I don't intend to put the main story games into one. It takes a lot of time, and I've got two more episodes to finish as well, so it's not a priority. If I did, it would only be the side stories, and then only after everything had been finished.
The comedy is used mainly to keep the player blindsided about what's coming - there is a lot of violence later on, some of it pretty graphic too.
The Editors Note was probably added during a second print run (to "correct" the first error) :) Whilst usually normal for an errant to be published in the next edition, I believe a same day re-print has happened before. Plus, Grendel would "insist" on an immediate correction, anyway :). I'll make sure that's added
I've reduced the size of side image now.
Ah, the main game menu is totally disabled without the in-game GUI, so what I thought could happen (pressing ESC) isn't available. Just remembered I disabled it anyway :)
I will make it auto-save though
Not sure what you mean by "a newspaper print something and deny it immediately in the same article?" If you're talking about the Editors Note, it heavily implies that Grendel was (either directly or indirectly) behind the reporters sacking ("we cleared the lovely Grendel Jinx immediately"). That sort of denouement in a British newspaper would get a reporter fired, Later on, the protagonist does state that Grendel is into extortion and blackmail.
As for jumping into the story - there are two introductory sections on the main menu, which should bring the player up-to-date with a) The Council and b) the story so far
I've always used the side image to denote the current speaking character, makes things easier overall. Might reduce the size of the side images though.
I prevent saving (easily at any rate) and rolling back at route choices, so that the player can't undo their choice. Saves are possible here, though - just need to manually access the game menu.
I wonder if that's the guinea pig voice files. Glad you liked it!
I'll see if anyone else has problems with Twitch on the RenPy forums - it's possible Twitch was using the window ID for the loading screen, which, of course, wouldn't exist once everything has loaded.
It may be that it can't handle OpenGL 3. Holding SHIFT when double-clicking/RETURN on the executable will bring up the game preferences. It may be worth trying AGILE first
It's like that, so I can change expressions, but I see what can be concatenated. There is no actual scaling done by me, beyond what Ren'Py does (and that's for window scaling and/or changing to full screen), so it's possible that's the cause, especially if it's trying to scale everything down to a small area. I may change the character bio windows later on.
What sort of scaling and graphic elements are you referring to? Depending on how other people feel, I may have the option to skip the prologue and just have a summary instead, but at the expense of the game not being marked as completed and all achievements won't be possible. You would also lose a lot of character details and motivations.
Hello
Yes, the full game has a fair few options. Quite a few visual novels have demos with no options in , so it's not unprecedented, and there wasn't really any logical need for them to start with.
Don't forget this visual novel is a comedy/drama one, and not solely a comedic. I do mostly use the comedic aspect to keep players unaware of something that's about to happen. I also don't shy away from bad things happening to people (although not in this episode) - after all the series is about an organisation that wants to take over the world and their methods aren't always exactly ethical.
Actually, I hadn't added the comedy/drama bit in the description - bit of mistake there on my part. All added now though.
Miss Potts doesn't fear Grendel's parents per se (although she probably knows what they are capable of), but she is loyal to them. She does also likes Grendel as well (being one of a few students who "doesn't just muck around in class"). There is more detail about schooling, and Miss Potts's class in No Regrets.
Thanks for the feedback, though.
My first visual novel with a voice artist, is a short side-story of my "Welcome To... Chichester" series.
When the megalomaniacal , kleptomaniac Grendel Jinx is mugged, she is determined to retrieve her possessions - and recruit the thief responsable into her organisation
