ran this adventure for 7 people recently- went absolutely awesome. very efficient use of space, maps were pretty clear and easy to replicate, actual concept and tone was fun (though I did modify the premise to my own needs- which was very easy to do!!) overall a really well designed, easy to run adventure, even for 7 people! took about 3 hours, and that included essentially skipping a floor to save time :)

hello- i'm so sorry to do this, but i've just spent the last 4 hours trying to figure out how to put a string variable in a field (i.e. player types in their character's name -> that name appears in text when the game or NPCs address the player's character) and i just can't? figure it out?? thank you so much for your response, i did manage to grok that you can just use the field itself as the variable (using the listener to figure that out!!) but actually taking that text and putting it in a sentence in a field is just beyond me.. i've read the reference manuals, looked at examples, gone thru the community threads and have now decided to swallow my pride and ask how you would 'embed' a string variable in a different field? like "hi [playerName], it's nice to meet you" or something like that?
sorry, i am very aware that i've been asking a lot of questions.. this is the most ambitious thing i want to do, so i don't imagine i'll be asking too many more!
for an interactive adventure, how would you save a text input as a string variable for the player character's name ? i understand that it would start with a field.. say the variable for the string is playerName, and the field itself is called inputPlayerName.. would it just be the following in the script for the field?
playerName: ""
playerName: inputPlayerName.text
?? i can't test it because i also don't know how to print a string variable in a field.. simple things but still getting to grips!
i definitely am! but i've recently been having this bug(?) where the text is writing out twice? like it types out, wipes, and then immediately types out again. i think it's something i've done somewhere- i've got some looping music going on that might have something to do with it (<- person who knows nothing about coding).. if u have the time and would like to, it would be great to know why you think that might be happening! and if not, no worries--i'm sure i'll figure it out :) thank you again for making this module, it's super cool !!
sorry for the obvious question, i'm not good with coding (but trying to learn!) and have been trying to figure out how to change the size of text in a field.. and have yet to figure it out 😭 how do you change the text size? i've tried using the x.textsize[x] interface but my different attempts don't seem to be working :(
both those settings sound soo cool. and the nice thing abt the srd is that you can use the rules to build all kinds of gear and treasure with different FX and limitations, and they can potentially interact with each other in really interesting ways..
I love the political intrigue implicit in both these settings btw! so much room not just for fun combat and mechanical choices, but interpersonal relationships and political tension too. which can be reflected in Bonds..... agh. sick
gahh those settings sound SO cool. i could feel the excitement growing as i read thru the srd and i could imagine so many different ways to use it (world hopping science fantasy anthology campaign, demi-gods in a decaying world, setting where an interdimensional rift is leaking strange energy—the world becomes more gonzo the closer you get to the rift, high school setting, but all the kids are cyborgs with all kinds of cybernetics and illegal modifications, space pirate skulduggery a la treasure planet—i could go on!) and all of those ideas sprung from YOUR work, which again! so cool! so scalable, so flexible !!
would LOVE to hear more about those settings if you're willing to share, and i would definitely try to put something together for a jam if you were ever to host one! thank you for creating this srd, seriously
