Thank you so much! I hope I can finish the game soon!

Thank you so much for your words! No, this is a unique story, but if you enjoyed this type of visual novel style you could check Echoing Sky which is using the same type of game system.

I enjoyed the game, the sonar gameplay is well made (wish I could implement something like this in my game too!). My suggestion would be to pan the sonar and hit sounds accordin to the lane as well, so that you can always be sure in which lane the sonar is travelling.

Nice idea, music puzzles are always fun.

Maybe, given the complex interface I wouldn't have started with two voices and inversions, and maybe a little bit more guidance could improve the interface. But the core of the game is there! I hope you have time to develop it more!

Nice game, I liked the focus on story and the presence of voice acting.

What an amazing game! The soundscape is interesting to listen to even without the gameplay. Great use of the rumble feature too, playing it with a controller was a blast!

Thank you! For the underwater monster I wanted to stress the fact that it's more like an animal than a monster, because maybe it's not totally evil, so I ended up using a very up close recording of breathing. That said, I will try to experiment with new sounds (or even music) for the monster as the game goes on.

Also yes, the game is set in New York: this is an homage to the 1998's Godzilla movie, which also had a monster and it was set in New York with never ending rain.

Fun game, I enjoyed improving my time. The audio is very well made, the car engine sound is seamless when slowing down or accelerating, well done!

Cool concept! I'd like to try it with friends someday. The only feedback I have is that sometimes the animal sounds and voice overlap, which makes it harder to understand what's going on.

I totally get your issue, being Italian, I got the same problem too when I was testing so I had to change my computer's self-voicing language.

It's more or less easy on Mac (my main computer) but when I tested it on Windows it was incredibly complicated that I forgot all the steps!

I'll look into this matter more and maybe add a tutorial on the game page to setup everything. Thank you for your feedback!

hello!

I plan to finish this game too, since I've already an endingin mind, but, at the moment, I'm working on a new project for games for blind gamers jam, so that has the priority for now!

<3 Thank uuu!

Hello! I use Aseprite to draw. If you want a perfect image conversion you should make an image of 128x128 pixels using only 2 colors!

Thank you! You're right, that's a great idea for another story lol

whoa so many things happened after I've made this game! At the time I was only confident in making music, and everything else seemed impossible to me. In a few years though, I've learnt how to draw my backgrounds, write stories and characters, make games in Bitsy and Renpy and even draw my own characters! People should start making games right here right now, no excuses!

<3

Thank you! I'm glad you liked the sounds!

nice! I was too young at the time, but I heard about the anti-piracy wheel, that was cool!

thanku! <3

I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for sharing your story too!

aaaa thank you so much! You're right, I should be uploading the soundtrack on Bandcamp/Spotify but got caught in work/life stuff. I promise I will upload it before Halloween!

Cool style as usual! And also the perfect lenght for me, I've managed to read all the endings and now I'm left wanting more!

Finally got to play this and I loved it! The writing is stellar as usual and the interactions are real cute!

thank youuuu! Yeah, my main focus is audio but I'm slowly learning how to draw so maybe in the future I will be able to express more with visuals!

thank you <3!

beautiful!

clever game! I had fun figuring out the puzzles (I needed a hint for the last one tho). Some of the curses were really scary!

Oh this was scary! I loved the journal and the use of 3D for positioning the characters and the great camera work!

Despite being a demo I think it works well as a stand-alone story too. Good voice acting and the backgrounds are beautiful!

I was attracted by the visual presentetion first and then hooked up by the intro scene! Good job! I love the looking around system you built, reminded me a bit of Paranormasight.

thank you! You can contact me at thenowayname@gmail.com with some examples of your work and we can talk about it!

<3 Thank you! I have to say, being a solo dev, most of the time I'm not able to deliver a complete game for a jam but this time I think I've found the perfect balance in terms of lenght and scope, I'm glad you liked it!

Thank you!! Wow a translation would be great! I don't know if you can send private messages on itch.io but you can use my email thenowayname@gmail.com !

aaaaa thank you! This comment made me extra happy since I really admire your work and style, it's an honor! :3

I've finished planning Grand Sylvan Hotel so I know how the finsh the story but I still need to write it.

For now I think I will focus on making Never Play Again more accessible and then go back to Grand Sylvan Hotel or Metal Whisper which I think would be fun to finish too.

Woo thank you so much! You can find my music on Spotify or Bandcamp I'm glad that the creepypasta atmosphere came through for you!

yes, sadly I didn't implement accesibility features in time for the jam, the renpy voice over should work but it needs some adjustments

Thank you so much for your video! I loved how you tried to figure out the story at the end! (Edit: I also see that you play games with a similar style than this one I should check them out too for inspiration!)
