That hammer softlock sure is a problem... I'm sorry you encountered it, we were aware of it but didn't have time to fix it unfortunately.
Still, I'm really glad you liked our game! The idea behind the theme was that you had to prove to your villagers that everything for them was already on their flat land so they wouldn't want to leave. I agree that it could be interpreted like you did though.
Bob is now my new role model 😍
Honestly, those numbered levels where you had to think outside the box were pretty amazing. I love this kind of design in a game. And the true ending where you need to put all the knowledge you gained from the level together... Mwah, french kiss.
Although, I might have picked Bob more than once to cheese levels 😂
I love that you integrated an optional difficult path to the left of the start :)
I found the visual effect a bit overwhelming as they added a tad bit of unresponsiveness to your controls, which I don't think you want in a 2D action platformer. Apart from that, I enjoyed the game, and I found the sprite work amazing!
I used my watering can to grow tall plants then fell into the void with my beloved flower. 10/10 would play again.
Seriously, man, thank you for taking the time to participate in this jam even if it was your first game. You might feel like you didn't do a lot, but even small steps like this are important in order to grow as a game developer. I hope you keep making games! Good luck with your future projects :)
This game looks really nice, and I think the mining animation is very satisfying and cute!
Like other comments said, it would've been great if I could see what resources I had in my inventory. Also, the game seems to be lacking an objective (but maybe I just didn't see it?). It's still a great proof of concept overall :)
Thank you so much, this means a lot! We really didn't have time to polish the level design, but I do think we could do so many interesting little neatly crafted puzzles with those mechanics. That was what we initially wanted to go for, but time was not on our side! Hahaha
Thanks for your comment and for the suggestion!
Thank you so much for the nice comment :)
I was the one that made the rhythm system (that tries to figure out if you've pressed the right input at the right time), and, yes I agree it's a bit awkward at times. I seriously underestimated the effort it takes to make a well balanced, responsive and fun to play rhythm game (even though I like the genre a lot). But hey, I learned a lot, and your nice comment makes it all worth it!
And, don't let the rejection of those cute penguins deter your confidence. They can be really picky at times. What? Giving up on you just because your dance moves are a bit lacking? Pfff, I bet their love isn't even worth it.
Thanks again!
I. Love. This. Game.
This is totally my style of game. I especially loved the platforming mechanics with the pushing/pulling thing being so fun to mess around with. The artstyle is also super pretty. And you did that all alone? I'm super duper impressed.
My only complaint would be that it is kinda hard to detach yourself from things once you're attached to them. But it's a really small thing and I had a lot of fun. Thanks for making this game!
