I mean rules state you shouldn't start until the start date, don't have a way to enforce that unfortunately, but there are no prizes involved or anything.
Hope to see you take part either way :)
Hi Styx,
Not just yet, our Discord and Twitter are the best places to stay up to date: discord.gg/uPCrgAXa5W Reload Magazine (@Reload_Magazine) / Twitter
Once we launch, we will be over on Kickstarter, before (potentially) having our section on Retro Format and Eight Bit (retro-format.com)
Hope that helps!
Zach
To clarify, the restriction is simply to level the playing field. Didn't want to force people to pay to enter the Jam, and didn't want them at a disadvantage for not doing so. Nothing to do with the war, sanctions, or value of the product itself.
Would love to have you take part Ragnar, loved your entry into the last E1M1 Jam and would love to see what you can do here too.
Hey Ragnar!
Reload does share a lot in common with E1M1, a lot of the writers are ex-E1M1, and of course the focus is on first-person shooters, specifically from the indie scene.
E1M1 is no more, so we are currently the only print magazine doing first-person shooters. As far as I am aware you can still buy issues of E1M1 on their website, but Reload has no affiliation with that project or its staff.
Ran into a few bugs during the final mission, in the final area (Cathedral). Enemies would flicker in and out and framerate slowed down to a crawl. Happy to provide further details upon request.
Just wanted to add though, this is a fantastic project so far and I can't wait to see more.
