How do followers get notified of a game being finished with development? Do followers also get notified of devlogs?

At the moment, my game is labelled on itch.io under the "in development" category. Once it's fully published and I change its status, will my followers by notified of that, or do I have to do something to notify them myself? Also, do followers get notified whenever I post a devlog? Will the notifications be sent via email or via itch.io only?

Thanks for your time!

If you change your development status no event is sent to your followers. If you write a devlog post then it will be published in all of your followers' feeds. At the moment we don't sent out email notification for devlog posts, but it's something we'll be adding sometime in the future.

Thanks for letting me know! Is there a way to email all my followers at once?

We don't let developers directly email followers. You can however email anyone who has bought one of your products.

Instead of emailing followers we plan to have a digest email about things that show up in your feed if you haven't viewed it in a while. Another feature we've been considering is a mailing list for developers where people can sign up with the intent of being emailed.

I like the latter. I'd love to move our newsletter away from Mailchimp, just because Mailchimp gets blocked by 60% of emails now, and there's nothing we can do about that.
