Details on the issue like controller type, System OS and the nature of the problem you are having would probably be useful to know for troubleshooting?
I'm having issues getting both my PS5 and PS4 controllers to work. Running the game on Win 10. Doesn't take any inputs aside from my keyboard.
I can't speak for other controllers, but for the dualshock 4 in particular, try using DS4Windows
Ditto. Running on Windows 10, unable to get my steam controller to work.
add it as a Non-Steam Game to Steam, enable support for your controller in Steam, then start the game in Big Picture mode
